What's new

How much am i going to regret this?

Im confused as shit...does the OP own the damn near 20yr old Jeep with wagon wheels? And if so, does he think its only 3yrs old?

JL, 2020MY That is what is rusted to shit.... welcome to NY. Leasing company will sell it for $37k and change to a third party.

LJ was sitting in a driveway outside of Albany on my ride home. Yes whatever it takes.

I don't know enough about it to know if it's gonna be a problem child or not, but I know it's gonna cost you on the long run, your wife is a euro luxury kinda girl now, good luck going backwards:laughing:

She's has had a slew of Land Rovers over the last 30 years. I'm retiring in 3 years... this will be the last of a 3 car fleet. Not worried about that.

can't be worse than BMW injectors.

we did two sets in my brother's e60. N54 life.
I need to put one in my 335d in the next two days. Isn’t too bad just need to pull the intake to do it. My wife is borrowing the 535d to her brother for the weekend and she is gonna drive my 335d. Hopefully she doesn’t smoke any potholes with it. :lmao:

You won’t be able to afford to retire with a 10 year old MB in the driveway.

$450 at the scrap yard... problem solved. It will be going one way or another when the day comes. In 3 years/30k miles its finding a new home. Won't be needed then. It really is needed now just to keep my diesel truck out of the salt. Hasn't seen a winter since new in 2011.

RIP your wheels.

nice time to find you some legit M wheels though.
Or just go full baller and get you some BBS LM johnnies.

...is borrowing... must be a cheese thing? :flipoff2::beer:
What injector, front 4 are cake, 5 you can do with the cowel cover on, #6 just pull it. Soak it with a penetrating lube, and expect to have a way to wipe/vac out all the carbon shit in there. Make sure the copper washer comes with it.

if you have not had the intake off yet hit me up and I will give you a few hidden things to look for. I made an adapter to a slide hammer to thread onto the injector. I hear horror stories of ppl not getting them out, but I also wonder how many of them are ' rookie' vs 'seasoned vet' when it comes to car stuff.

He is visiting us for the weekend. He lives in California.

I have a puller. I have had the intake off to clean it out. I did 1 and 6 a few weeks back. Should have did them all but my cheapness won out. So now I get to do another:lmao:. If another one goes bad the last three will get it. :homer:

Been there, done that- which is why last May it got all 6- need it or not here they come!

This is the biggest issue I see as well.

I guess im the only one who thinks you did good.
Crapshoot for sure, but no worse than my Gladiator that had a 6 month lead time on a failed instrument cluster 5 weeks out of warranty. Down the road it went.

I have a suspicion that this Benz was owned by the father of a guy I used to work with who recently passed. Father and son had matching c300's. The son bought his used at the same Lexus dealership and later traded it in on an rx. This one was traded on an rx as well.

Injector changed and adaptation programmed in under 2 hrs :lmao: Only thing I forgot was to plug the intake pressure sensor back in. :homer: First rip and the damn krauts shut the turbo off without that plugged in :lmao:.

Nicely done. My work to beer ratio normally determines how long it takes. I can normally have it torn down in about 20 minutes. I pull the hook struts and lift the hood straight up and hang it from the garage door opener. Makes its stupid easy to work on. The mass air sensor will also really mess with it when you do not plug it back in. Things get mad at you, not that I have EVER done that.

I wouldn't hesitate for a minute; at that price and in that condition, i'd buy it. The engine is stone reliable (whole drivetrain, for that matter), and the platform is well known. Not terrible to work on, comfortable, reasonable fuel economy. Parts are easy to find as well. Do EEEET.

I did have to do a big burnout to make sure the cel will stay off :flipoff2:. Surprisingly it passed:lmao:.

Did you put a xhp tranny tune on your car yet? It really perks it up:lmao:

No been debating the Rod Stufin (sp) tune, but just recently think my trans might be acting up at 178K, kinda torn on what to do. I love the car, but how far does one go...

Got a new set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 PLUS tires and installed a used passenger side seat bottom on the wife’s C300 drivers side seat over the weekend. Just had to remove the occupancy sensor harness bracket to make it fit.

My wife had a 2011 C300 for a while. Easiest car to change the oil on ever. Suck the oil out of the dipstick and the filter is right on top behind the radiator. 10 minute oil change with no mess. Nice little ride.

It's absurd how fucking complicated it is to simply change the damn oil in a lot of newerish vehicles.

The longest part of an oil change SHOULD be simply waiting for the oil to drain out.
