I like fucking around with bad ideas. So, what sort of fitting can I use so I can toss some less than perfect firewood in the stove and ignite by burning propane?

I think I'm looking for a brass propane nozzle that threads inside an iron piece with some openings to draw in air. I will cut a hole in the side of the stove and voila dedicated torch ignition.

I could just pipe straight propane in, but it burns much better with the proper pre-mix.

I have access to both regulated and unregulated propane. Pretty sure the regulated source is the one I'll be using.

Is this what I should be looking for?

I would be careful with this project. If you want it automatic then buy a kit from classic outdoor wood stoves. My wood stove has a diesel fired gun on it that I use to start the shitty wood. Works flawlessly for the past 15years. Any home brew setup I would be Leary of it turning the wood stove into a bomb in a auto mode.

Get yourself a tiger torch and manually start it with that. If I make it home from a collections run right now I’ll get you a picture of my setup.

It'll be for my ice shack. Definitely don't want auto mode.

I've been using a bernzomatic TS8000 torch and have been thinking about adding a flex line so I don't have to use the little green tanks (and yes I know all about refilling them). My shack already has copper propane lines in it. Would be nice to just turn a valve and light the propane, then shut off in a minute or two.

you got the right idea with the pipe burners then
I'd just be feeding it with a grill bottle though
fuck those little cans, the schraeder valves always seem to leak on me after about a hundred times apart and together

just grab the whole ignition/gas valve setup from an old gas dryer

they got a ceramic igniter that gets glowing hot then clicks the flame sensor over which turns on the gas valve
