Homebrew camper tie downs

I still don't get it, if I did that my camper would cover them?

Unless you mean in front of and behind the wheel wells, but even then it would be almost impossible to get to in the front?

Yes, they are in front of, and behind, the wheel wells. Mine is a Four wheel camper, it has access panels for both the front and the rear tie down spots from inside the camper.

Ok, I gotcha now.

You like the four wheel brand? I've heard one of the better or maybe the best, pop up brand.

Not sure about the pop-up type, but even a small, light hard sided camper puts a shit load of force on the tie downs. Hence the spring in forward link to absorb shock, but still pulls the mounts off the wood camper body.

My home brew rear mounts. Fronts would be a mother fucker with fuel tank against frame, so I bought instead of spending a shit load of time on something that already exists.

So far, yes. Only had it about a year. Is it worth the extra money? Not sure yet, long term quality is a big part of why we went with the four wheel camper brand. You see a lot of older campers from them that are still in very good condition, hoping mine is trouble free for a long time.

I have a pair of front Torque Lift's (ones that mounted to frame under cab) that came off of my SRW 3500 SB Ram that you are welcome to have if you will pay for shipping. I reused the rear ones on my current dually but had to buy new front ones. May be able to cut them up and make something work. They are collecting dust and taking up shelf space in my shop.
