Anybody have one, including you drug smugglers? Are headrests the next catalytic converter so thieves can see what's inside?

Seems more secure than a plastic glove box or center console. How does it match the interior?

I may be a guinea pig if no one has.

Sure looks like its attached the same way as a standard headrest, the trick is just that it doesn't look like a safe.

I wouldn't want that immediately behind my head in an accident.

Explain crash active headrests please. Most likely candidate would be our 18 F-150 which has more tech than I'm knowledgeable of.

I've only seen them in BMW's, but I'm sure a lot more vehicle have them now.

Similar to an airbag, there is a pyrotechnic inside the headrest that fires if your vehicle is hit from behind. It pushes a portion of the headrest forward a few inches to help with whiplash/neck injuries.

Saw that on one of those truck shows this morning and it piqued my interest.

I had the exact same thought on it. Would be great to hide a handgun, or a small stash of blow.

there's some stuff in the seat back that moves the headrest if the car detects a rear end collision. saving your neck.

Damn, I didn't think Demolition Man was as prophetic as Idiocracy.

Yeah if it simply pulls out like most headrests, the safe part is kind of a gimmick.
Agree. Why mess with buttons? Just a hidden nook would be as good.

I watched Demolition Man with my kid the other day. Lame action movie, fantastic, prophetic worldbuilding!

The wife's 2015ish Durango had those headrests. Fucker went off randomly one day and hit her in the back of the head. She was 8mo pregnant at the time. Dealer tried to tell her it wasn't under warranty (200mi past warranty). Needless to say she flipped her shit before I could get there to flip my shit.:lmao:

Fuck those headrests.

The last thing is i want is more weight hitting me in the back of the head in an accident

I rarely, like once a couple months, panic brake. I'm the guy who keeps the pile up from happening because I slow folks down when someone does stupid shit.

The last time I was rear ended, I literally hit my hazards cause I could see dumbfuck on his moto looking right when he should have been looking straight. Barely moved the truck, but left bits of his moto on my bumper :shaking:

What exactly are you going to put in there? If it will fit in a headrest it will fit on my person therefore it’s coming with me. Living in Las Vegas has taught me to leave nothing in the car including a tin of Altoids.

Once again I'm glad I live in BFE. I know people who only lock their doors when they're out of town. People look at me funny when I lock my truck. :homer:

I don't know how you guys can live in such shitty areas where you constantly have to worry about stuff being stolen.

Fwiw, according to some Mark Robert videos, the pros look in the trunk first.

Actually, just put an iPad box on the back seat and they'll avoid the car because they think it's a bait vehicle

I can push a button and walk off with the whole thing on one of my trucks

neat idea, hard pass

This is me. Hell, there's a Rottweiler in here that I'm pretty sure dreams nightly about disemboweling strangers. Behind him will be the pit bull and I'll be trailing with a .45 but honestly I'm probably just gonna let the dogs maul you to death. So yeah, go ahead and c'mon in.

Wait, what the fuck you talking about my tiddays
Flat chested I see. Well, we can work around that.:flipoff2:

Wait...what the fuck are we talking about?

BTW, I just showed my wife this. Her response "what just happened?":lmao:

Women. :lmao::homer:
