Stupid simple. Basically just a stack of shit that drops in and then a valve body does on the bottom. It's like bastard child of heavy equipment wet brakes and the planetary portion of a transfer case.

I’ve seen it done a hundred times, I just didn’t want to do it by myself. Should swap in a manual but snowballing projects.
