What's new

Hauling over weight???

It'll be off the trailer frame and on the ground. Lifted to load on and same plan with boom tow truck to unload... if it happens.

The last 40ft connex they delivered was $6k.... what the guy told me.

fuck that.

I have a 53ft van trailer. It's decent for storage and was cheap ($1800), but a PITA to climb in and out and forklifting heavy stuff like my Landa steam washer.
Considered cutting off the running gear, but then it'd be a huge PITA to move.

No idea on weight, my 5k forklift won't lift it at the kingpin end. Had to use my 977L

We placed a few for a guy to use as storage. He had a bit of a slope. So we pulled the axles and used the landing gear to level things out. Worked pretty good

Put a triangle on the back and send it. I know the stretch of road you're talking and I'd do it. But I'm the guy who pulled a spray rig on a flatbed that is 11' 8" wide across your state on i44 in the snow recently.

Unless you pass a cop who is actively engaged in fishing for CMV infractions that specific day you will be fine. Other than the lack of door number you look like a normal hotshot driver.

This is what Saturdays morning are made for.
Rookie move.

Cops are out trolling for DUIs and other fishing bullshit early on Saturday and Sunday mornings and during the overnight hours in general. I can 100% one of them choosing to hassle an apparent hotshot driver over logs if it's been a slow night.

You want like a Tuesday at 5:30 am. Early enough that it's still dark and there's not much traffic but late enough it's starting to pick up and there's plenty of BMWs weaving through traffic for the cop to gaze upon before he has a chance to realize that an opportunity to go fishing has just driven right by him.

Also do it in the rain if you can. Anything that reduces visibility is your friend.

It was going to be a Thursday, so today but I ended up getting a name drop to one of the higher ups at the trucking company and they're going to put them, getting 2, on a truck that will be dead heading down my way. Since they're on the chassis already they're just going to park them where I mark off and I'm only on hook for a few hundred $.
