What's new

Has anyone gone through the legal process of claiming an abandoned vehicle?

you have to bring the vehicle to the SP. they check to make sure your lights works and look it over
Its not road worthy…

I had a boat with a lost title and all they needed at the DOL was the number. The registration read ownership in doubt for 3 years. Then a new title was sent to me. No need to bring the boat in. Never had to do anything with the SP at all. I guess I will start by going to the DOL and see what she wants/needs to see.

i'm interested to know how it works out. never have done a boat, but every vehicle, probably around a dozen, has had to taken to their inspection shop. and its a pita, they don't have inspection in Skagit county anymore, so have to schedule an appointment, usually 2-3 months out, and go to Marysville.

i've only done cars and trucks on the 3yr registration thing, but the wife takes any dirt bike quad ot scooter that I come to own in if it doesn't come with a title. shes had to take every one of those into their shop too.
