Looks like Harbor Freight is updating to "Series 3" for their US General Line:

Looks like they're adding white and slate grey to the other six standard colors and from the above image hutches and updated end lockers are coming too.

Damn... I just bought a black 56" base cabinet for my workshop last spring. I'd have preferred slate grey if I knew it was coming so soon.

Video of their SEMA booth. I see a few other new items...

I'm curious about the tripod thing in the Daytona display next to the self-loading wheel dollies.

Some more details:

I like the full width latch. There's an integrated power drawer. Also deeper drawers. They say at the end that they're starting with the 72" setup and that will be available in "springtime."

Here's the off-road floor jack:

Hard to say, but I'm somewhat guessing the wheels are going to be the weak point there.

Are the wheels taking the load? To me it would make sense to have the wheels/axles spring loaded along the vertical axis so as you put weight on it, they compress and it sits on the frame....or maybe sits on low profile steel rollers underneath as they technically need to roll a bit as you raise the jack with a load on it.

I've thought about making some jack stands on casters like that. Roll on their own but sit on the legs when there's more than a couple pounds on them.

It's cheaper.

With a christmas coupon, it's a pretty good deal

Where did you find a price for it? I did a bunch of searching and came up with nothing.

I did find the 911 motorsports off road conversion kit for the aluminum jack HF sells and that i own, but the price for it seems retarded for what is included.

Edit: I probably should have watched until the end where he mentioned it being $299. :lmao:

Are those general boxes worth the money? Thinking about buying another box, havent figured out if i want to go that route, husky/kobalt, or wait for a used snapon box to show up on craigslist.

Yes running half a dozen daily in our shop as a trial run instead of buying snap on for the first time and honestly zero complaints seeing heavy use every single day brought one home for myself also again zero issues

Absolutely !

They have almost double the weight rating of most husky/kobalt boxes. They are a much better option.

Before buying my box, I went around and looked at the Craftsman, Husky, Kobalt, etc. Also looked at the tool truck brands and the HF ICON brand.

Do the USG compare to tool trucks? No. But they compare favorably when you figure in the cost. $1K USG vs. $4K to $14K Snap-On (depending on series) - the Snap-On just doesn't give me 4x to over 10x the value of the HF USG.

The ICON boxes are also nice, but for my use I still couldn't see spending 2.5x the cost of the USG box.

As for the others, again I just felt that the HF USG was a better value dollar to dollar than the other box store brands.

I'm expecting that the Series 3 will come with a price increase - if for nothing else it sounds like they'll be slightly bigger. If I knew they were coming out within a year, I would have probably held off.

I’ve used some that just have big pneumatic tires with low pressure. With no weight on the jack they roll really nicely. Put some weight on it and the tires compress until it sits on the legs. They worked great, but I haven’t used a Pro Eagle style.

Been a long time since I bought a floor jack, is $300 really the cost now?
I have 2 HF floor jacks.

The 3ton super duty (snap on copy) and the 4 ton heavy duty.

The 3 ton (which was $290 or close to that) blows the 4 tons out of the water on every aspect. Worth the money for sure.

Pro Eagle wheels are solid. Using it in the shop, it stays up on the wheels. They’ve had vids in the past of holding up a front corner of a chase truck and driving on pavement using the Jack. Bottom is a full skid, so when in soft stuff, just the wheels sink in and then it supports off the plate.

I've never seen so many guys excited about harbor fright before. I won't buy any buy anything hf with a cord cept for $10 grinders. That said, hf tool boxes have really come up over the years. I wouldn't think twice about driving one into a new job. If it falls apart in ten years, the replacement will still be 10% snap on price
