Harbor Freight 25% off coupon

The torque wrench I have been using is a Kobalt digital. It doesn’t tell you when you hit a desired setting, you have to watch the digital read out.

At least I can set the Icon and get at click when I hit my torque value.

Project Farm is pretty rad. I’ll have to go back and watch his video on it.

my brother's digital one gives you a tone as you approach and a beep when you hit it with a tactile vibration and some flashing lights.

it's nice, but is it really something I need and is it worth the hassle of another device that has batteries?

I've been doing fine with a click so far. I am interested in the split beam style too since you don't ave to store it all the way backed off. Would be handy for random lug nut torqes and shit if I could just leave it set at 90 ft lbs.

I did three separate transactions so I could use the 25% off three times :grinpimp:

Not a bad haul for $536.49 after the government took their cut.

^^ I bought the long drum version of that on Friday and then went and picked up a 12k saturday. I'm building a log arch/hauling trailer and the 12k will be for skidding and I'm hoping the 5k has enough ass to pull the lifting arch.

I saw someone else buying the winch. I guess I don’t understand why I’d be excited to buy a harbor freight winch ‘on sale’ when I could buy something better with my money. Warn and Superwinch have options close enough in price I’d just save alittle longer to buy a ‘better’ winch. It’s just weird and I have a Smittybuilt on my shitbox.

I grabbed the long drum also. Going to toss it on the ranger for pulling logs out of the woods and other random crap. I've got a bunch of 5052 plate left over, going for a bling build

Warn and superwinch have options close to the $240 I paid for the HF 12k?

Show me the 12k warn I can buy with Synthetic rope, a fairlead and wireless controller for under $500.

What's your gripe about the Harbor Freight winches? They're cheap and they work. Show me another winch that has a lower amp draw than their ZXR line of winches.

Their line speed is kind of slow, but honestly that doesn't really bother me, and for less than 1/2 the price of other brand names, I can live with it. The Apex series has much faster line speeds, but also much higher amp draw.

Not the best winches around, but bang for the buck, they are pretty hard to beat in my opinion.

I put 2 12k apex winches on 2 different jeeps...

We were unloading a loaded, 20ft conex off a trailer, and the 12k warn winch stalled at the same time the harbor freight one did

cable is for bitches and poor people.
Says the guy rocking the harbor freight winch.
The badlands Apex isn’t under $500 with synthetic line and blah blah blah. It

The ‘bang for the buck’ crowd looking for ‘not the best winch around’ should look for a slightly better deal. Celebrating buying the best cheapest winch you found locally just seems…odd.

ONE amp more draw at a full 12,000 pound load, synthetic line, and wireless controls. I guess this is cheap Chinese crap, and Harbor Freight is the good cheap Chinese crap.

I just bought a warn 12k w/steel cable for $522. :flipoff2:

HF is garage

Please explain to me what makes your Chinese Warn superior to the Chinese Badlands besides the fact you paid an extra $200

Uh, yes it was with the New Years coupon. $487.50 :flipoff2:

It's all Chinese crap :flipoff2:

The specs on that one are identical to the ZXR, and the only thing it has over the ZXR is synthetic line. It still costs $90 more than I paid for my ZXR which is a known quantity (at least to me).

I ordered an Apex wireless winch remote, I intend to cobble/adapt it to my Warn XD9000i. I tried my buddy's non-Apex Badlands wired remote on my Warn, they're both round 5-pin, but his remote didn't work on my Warn. Anyone know if I'll get lucky enough to plug the Apex remote in and it just work?

Worst case it's just swapping a few pins around on one side or the other.

My old pre apex hf used a xlr plug. At least made it easy to repair and make spares. You could also use a flathead screwdriver easily

Quantity, or quality? You know you bought how many cheap Chinese winches you bought without synthetic line with your coupon so it is better to you?

It doesn’t plug and play. You have to find the correct pins and wire it.

used coupon yesterday item i thought i was getting 25% off was marked down and not marked on shelf so i ended up getting 25% off a pair of $1.99 gloves.

ComprehensionProblem seems to have tripped and fallen off his meds this week.

Im surprised after 10+ years of badlands winches working just fine people still talk shit about them.
As with most things it comes down to frequency and type of use. If I was traveling through super remote areas across a continent where help could not be relied on I would spend the money for a high $, name brand. If I was working a job where it was getting used almost every day its easy to justify the added cost.

If I am using it every month or so, it's not a life or death if it works and I ain't making money on it - I'll take the harbor freight. There are cheaper, but I know with them if its DOA i can easily swap it and they seem to do a decent job of keeping parts inventory for at least a few years.

QA and build tolerances. Just because they are made in the same country doesn't mean they are made the same:homer:

You HF fan boys are only fans because that bearded fag on YouTube :flipoff2:

Karen shopper fest, at best :flipoff2: Over HF no less - giz

Many beotches have surfaced in this thread. It is a beautiful thing. :rainbow:

Was back at the new HF store and a Police cruiser pulled in right in front of me. A thief, a homeless or a similar looking cretin had just left the scene without paying. Another Cruised pulled in and they went off in search of. Same HF clerk who I had talked to about the theivery a week ago. And the knives are gone, they cannot keep then on the shelves. Maybe these guys camped out in park along the river doing fentanyl and heroin will stab each other. Organ sacrifice. It's rough out there as the river as come way up and flooded out the nesting areas.

Their $139 arc/stick AC/DC welder inverter looks really appealing. I have held off so far but i mocks me every time I walk past the display on the way to search the knives.
