Way out West.
Brought to you by that baby makin' machine Elon Musk. If this new technology is really all they say it it, EV's might actually make sense. No more heavy metals, better recyclability, WAY faster charge times, much higher energy storage density, and the ability to use the battery in your car to power your house during peak times all sounds good to me.

Just what we need. A battery even more dangerous. Tesla fires have killed 83 people as of Wednesday. We need to pump those numbers up.

To be fair you would need to look at the number of gas cars on the road compared to electrics when you’re doing your math.
And, died in massive accident, car also caught fire.

Not differentiated from "car caught fire, ensuing fire caused death:

Sounds like your opinion is based on feelings and not actual analyzed data.
83 deaths from a brand that accounted for 4% of vehicle sales in the last year doesn’t sound excessive?

Truck driver I watch was broke down near Chicago, since it was going to take time to get the parts, rather than have his family drive 600 miles he decided to fly home. To get to the airport he called for an UBER, guy picked him up in a Tesla, driver is 6'2" about 240lbs he spent the whole ride spooked because he just knew the driver was going to have a wreak and he was going to go out through the glass roof, plus the sun was burning his head through said rooff!

Fun fact I found out Tesla rear brakes have electric parking brakes

Considering the way I see a lot of teslas being driven in my area, no.

There have been a flurry of “OMG, this is THE battery technology that will make electric everything possible “ in the last 5 years and none of them have made it to market yet. I think I’ll not hold my breath on this.

I do hope at least one of the technologies is the answer though.

Tesla has been selling a good amount of cars since like what? 2012??

83 deaths in roughly 12 years doesn't sound all that bad to me.

How many of these are battery caught fire after getting plowed by another car vs. nun was driving at 10 and 2 and car bbq'ed her?

Kinda like died of covid vs. died with covid.

Just another data point in the Elon is the Devil nonsense.

Battery technology has been very incremental, with only one improvement over older tech, think LA vs AGM, but if this technology gets fleshed out and is cost effective it will be a game changer.

Here let me help you...............

Yeah, it charges faster. Who the fuck cares? At 60X the charging rate of a lion battery, no eletric grid is going to support a charging station with 10 ev's with these plugged in. When they throttle back the current to keep from overloading the feed, they won't charge any faster than they do now.

Chicken or the egg. No point in having an electric grid that can do that until someone builds something that requires it.
