What's new

GM Plastic Jack

not surprised at all
gm went to plastic clutch pedals in the 99+ trucks
Idk about clutch pedals but my 04 burb is metal as fuck.

I have a 2024 trailblazer as a work vehicle. I will check the jack.

Someone posted above about plastic control arms on rams. This is correct for the new 6 lug trucks. Mevotech already has a cast steel replacement arm available that will last half as long as OE 😂

I must be doing it wrong - I've been impressed with mevotech's offerings across 5-6 vehicles. :homer:

The Jack in my Ford van is perfect for jacking up trailers too.

I’m jaded because I hock them. I have installed them on my personal vehicles and haven’t had major issues but I have seen legit/documented product failures only to be pushed aside because “they must have hit something”

See exhibit A

“Must have hit something or installer error”

Ummm this is an unloaded pre assembled control arm :lmao:

If you aren't injured on it's way in, that's disturbingly impressive. Unless you mean, just use it as a chair? That's probably going to hurt too. :flipoff2:

"Sit on it, Manetti"
I left the door wide open for that lol

This heavy obsolete piece of shit passes as a jack for ford transits made in Europe. it’s actually a really nice jack.

those disgusting and worthless pieces of shit are so overcomplicated that they have a 2-stage telescoping ram in them

If you encounter them don't panic as you can send them directly to me to save anyone the heartache of looking at such a thing

Never tried my F350 bottle jack, you think it is telescoping too?

Got this for scrap value, it works I don’t like using it, but I have yet to find anybody who really wants it.

Plastic cars are the future. A Plastic Unibody frame/body.

We can stop worrying about rust, and start worrying about the sun and age making vehicles brittle.

that's way sweet

today I was just thinking about the two-speed mini log splitter jack that I saw at the scrapyard a year ago, thing would have been cool for a press but that one's even cooler

Following up on this thread, my 2024 Trailblazer (work supplied) is a steel jack
