So I guess this is the right place to put this.😜. On my 1983 John Deere 410b backhoe the gauges bounce. Like an electrical jolt hits em every few seconds. They all bounce at the same time. I suck at everything electrical. So what should I be looking at? The wiring is hack from god only knows how many owners have had at it. A loose ground? Alternator? Ignore it and run it with no clue what’s right?

Had a similar year 310A that would do that. Never did bother to figure it out.

Voltage regulator.
Looks like I can get an aftermarket alternator for $135. I think I’ll throw that at it and see what happens. Deere parts are stupid money! I think I paid $700 for a starter. I thought I’d only have that option for the alternator. I check back and tell you guys if throwing parts at it blindly worked.😂

Yup. And they don't carry much for old stuff anymore. After about 20 years old, good luck.

Try finding parts for a 1987 648D log skidder. The dealer acts like I'm asking for something that's 100+ years old. Even the new machine which is a 97 is "antique". Cause we can all afford $300-400k for brand new ones every few years I guess.
