In. Wasn't gonna be home til tomorrow, I had worked it out with county ranger that on teh way back from the FFEO west school that I'd stop at a lifelong buddy's house for the night to split the almost 6 hour drive. I'm supposed to be on call tonight though so i felt kinda sketchy about not being here anyway, so I already had it in mind to stop and rest a bit and then drive back anyway. By the way I passed FFEO west school and it's basically rock crawling but with a dozer not a jeep
I'll transfer pics of the school stuff tomorrow. Anyway, I stopped at David's house and had a short nap and was going to spend the night and hang out and all, but phone started going off about a fire in my county. I told him I'm sorry but I have to go, I'm on call and shit's going down, will have to hang out more some other time. He didn't really understand why I felt I had to leave when I had permission from my boss to finish the drive tomorrow, but I told him that I'm on call, it's my job, and no way am I gonna miss out on going out to fire calls while I'm on duty to go to them.
About that time of the discussion the District Forester called and asked if i was back in county yet and I said no not yet but I'm on the way so they sent another dozer to plow that fire.
I hauled ass for home in shitty 5pm traffic from Garner and the pickup started showing signs of waht I kinda suspected all week while driving in the mountains anyway.. the transmission isn't happy. It's dripping fluid on the exhaust crossover on the 2004 Ford F350 and smoking up intersections when I had to stop constantly in traffic.
I made it, but parked the truck a good bit from the house in case it caught fire after i went in to get a shower and all, cus it's got a 150 gallon diesel transfer tank in teh bed lol.
Again, I'll talk more about the school tomorrow and have pics, but I'm glad to be home
