Blew out my rear 16" fox 2.0 air shock on my last trip. Going to order some OE kits and hope they can make it to my door by Wednesday. Plan is to be leaving for Fordyce Friday night with both shocks rebuilt.

Is everyone running what fox recommends or some kind of atf/ hydraulic fluid? Do you run a different amount than what's recommend?

I was running out of the box shocks with 200psi of pressure.

This is the kit I'm planning on buying.

Seals came in next day from poly around 5:30ish PM, ran to my shop and rebuilt the bad shock. Shaft had a decent scar right in the sweet spot, used wax/600 grit sand paper to help smooth it out. Worst case I'll get some fancy epoxy to smooth it out.

Another thing I learned today was that mL is the same as cc with fluid measurement. :homer:

Note for myself and others

2.0 fox air shocks
14" OE calls for 360cc/mL
16" OE calls for 400cc/mL

more oil and less pressure was what I recall from the old place. Would be nice to know if there have been updates since on setup.

Yeah I found the ml=cc interesting as well.

If you don't plan on bombing whoops or jumping 100% full of oil fully compressed or even 100% full @ ¼" extended is hard to beat for crawling.
Let's you run the lowest possible pressure for your desired ride height.

cc = ml and also = 1 gram of water :grinpimp:

100% full of oil. I swapped out the factory red (7w?) Oil for 10w in my 2.0 and thought it did great for crawling but sucked bad on the access roads with only 3-4 inches of uptravel. I also revalved them at some point to slow down compression and not bottom out.

Biggest improvement I found was dumping the 2.0 for 2.5s. Night and day difference.

on 2.5 s did you still run full of oil. or ?
No. I did valve lower than the stock 90 for compression (40?) to soften them up and changed the oil to 10w since i had that around and put in the factory level CC. I have not felt the need to mess with them since this. I run ~4" of uptravel on 16" shocks and do not bottom them out.
