It originally was 24m. Customer had a major miscommunication internally when they signed the original contract. That mistake caused enough rework to almost double the final build cost.
Damn. That's nuts. We are 6 months away from completing $116MM project. CA school work so everything is stupid expensive and we should be less than $10MM in COs when done. About $2MM of that are owner changes.

Haven't slept well last few nights and feel like smashed ass. Wednesday I was up most of the night coughing up bits of supper. I think I acid refluxed into my lungs.
Throat feels like I swallowed acid.

This morning it was a helicopter at 0600 flying so low the building was shaking to where I went to run outside thinking it was an earthquake. Dog knocked a bunch of stuff over trying to hide.

Once was bad enough, but he did it NINE times. Kept running big circles.
No search light, couldn't tell a tail number as it was dark out.
Well below 500ft.

If it wasn't for the whole felony and possibly killing someone I was ready to fire up the anti aircraft artillery. I turned on the yard lights and stood out there in my underwears giving them the WHAT IN THE **** arms.

I had planned to maybe catch up on sleep a bit and get up later.

As usual my R&R is drawing down and I didn't get nearly enough done.
Dibs on useful stuff.:flipoff2:

This is a fiber build. In our industry, when cable and conduit size changes, material costs can double easily.
Part of the co was adding 1/4 more build at the same time.

In.

Worked on Impala front brakes.
After helped a friend pick up outside furniture set, took both our trucks to do it in one trip.

Now making my 1st meal of the day.

In. Was out of town last night as the job site we were at was far enough away to not make it worth driving back and forth.

Ran in to some issues with the equipment which required us having to run out and buy a laptop at 9pm for their stupid program that only works in windows AND locks itself to the laptop once activated :shaking:

With all the running around and calls with the office and manufactuer I didn't get a chance to call the woman before she went to bed. Yea she is super pissy now. Sigh.

But we got the transformer up and running/turned over. If we didn't have the technical issues we could have gotten this done in a single (long) day.

bought a big garwood pto winch
peeled a drum full of rusty 9/16" cable off of it that I paid for by the pound :c
the final two wraps were still greasy and okay though
tried making a molly hogan for a while, couldn't get the wires to lay right so put it back and used the ill-fitting 1/2" wire rope clips that were on the end of it
might try and wrap an eye on the other end after watching a video on how to do it so the tails lay right
the small brake on the worm got smashed up bad, but I should be able to braze it back together if I get bored some day in the future and gotta wait on concrete to cure

uhhh
tied rebar, tried making sense of the pattern I'm running through the arch form, I don't use anywhere near enough stirrups, but making them is such a pain in the ass
swept floor
dunno

hopefully the ground thaws through before the top layer dries out, wanna try out my screw pile experiment
still no water in the sump pit yet which is strange, didn't get a normal amount of snow this year though

In. Weather finally cleared up long enough to get set up on a well, first one since before Christmas. I have to meet with the Phillips 66 representative on Monday morning then we should be good to go.
My wife has had a cold or flu all week and my throat is starting to feel funny with a little cough...
Your weather there has been too ****ty since Christmas to do a single well? Wow. If it's because of too much rain send some here.
Here in NC we got some rain I think last Sunday which put us back to RP2 for a few days, but then the wind went to blowing 30 mph for days again and right back to RP4 Thursday. We even got rain Thursday night but high winds again today and a pretty good drought, low humidity, etc.. The whole state is on a burn ban as of 8 this morning and we're probably working 7 days a week again now until we get "significant rain" which means what we really need is a soaking rain that lasts all day and not this hard rain that lasts 20 minutes and runs off into the ditches crap.
The NCFS is understaffed as a whole, job vacancies that just haven't been filled yet, etc.. but us in District 4 have sent a few people to the mountains again already for fires. Today they got it set up for people from Oregon to fly into our district and man all the unmanned Type 6 engines in the district and take them to the mountains as well. So tomorrow morning instead of having to report at my normal duty station by since it's a weekend, I have to drive a truck an hour to meet someone at 7:30 tomorrow morning, then "they'll figure out" how to get me back to where I belong lol.
it sucks during fire season and we all get burnt out, but the comp time makes up for it I guess. I haven't seen my sailboat at all this year, but a buddy checks on it here and there. The 3 weeks and counting of comp time I've built up will pay off later though.

Good week but turned to ****. RT 80 by exit 34 is closed in both directions now with sinkholes. 287 north by RT 80 has developed another sinkhole. My 2006 TJ now has a check engine light and the speedometer has stop working.
Don't let a sinkhole and a broken jeep go to waste. Push said jeep into sinkhole, fixes hole, fixes jeep. :flipoff2:

sometimes the internalized screaming builds up to the point it becomes external screaming.
Not really. The footer is gonna need to be bigger to meet code, (20x10 instead of 18x10) and other than that I’m not worried. They gave me another option to get a split permit will make it easy to build the pad first, then building second, whenever I win the lottery.

Also one of my buddies didn't know my house is adjacent to a :mr-t: church/graveyard. So, that was entertaining to show the folks in the office.

I gotta go back when the main guy is there because of how weird the boundaries are, I might be able to move stuff back. Don’t know yet.

Just got off the phone with Sister. Dad fell and banged his only hand up.

The old stubborn ass as wore out knees he won't fix. Only has one hand. A work accident took his right one arm above his wrist.

So, my question without starting a thread. What kinda of watch can I get him.? So, when he falls going into the house again. He can have it call one of us or alert us of his fall.

We have Alexa inside the house. Maybe get one for the carport?

Have you thought about indoor cameras?

If he has an android phone you can set location share via Google Maps and its free.

Can you mount a house phone and numbers on the ground somewhere easily accessed in the house. After grandma fell, she thought it was a great idea.

Doc examed , called for an ultrasoun,, then I sat in the room fro 13;00 till 18;00. Fluid build up in the sack that needs to be drained, perscription to go see a urologist
Pretty hungry by then all I had, had was a cup of coffee aroun 07;30, tried o make an online orde with cicken resteraunt at has good reviews, damn software won't accept PO boxwants street adress to hell with Burger King here I come

Off to find a jocksrap.

We have the alexa in the kitchen and his bedroom to cover him in the house. That he can just have it call one of us.

I have thought about cameras inside the house. I have a blink one for the back yard. That I can talk through.

This was coming up the steps into the house. I mounted a grab handle, which he was trying to go up the steps, hold the screen door open, and hold his cane under his arm. While not using it.

He has an Android phone. If I set his location to share on maps. Will it just show him at home or will it pin point him outside?

The maps is a great idea to do, so we can track his ass, lmao.

He did fall one night and knocked himself out for a few hours. I told him people die that way. Idk if anything will work in that case.

I try to stuff that his comfortable with me doing and trying not push anything on him yet.

Great ideas gentleman.

My son has two job offers for a PM “trainee” straight out of college in July.

One company wants to put him on a $100m project, the other is growing quickly and wants to put him on a $10m project.

Both water treatment construction in So Cal. Do either of you have any suggestions? The smaller company is growing, the larger is already kicking ass.

I’ve only worked on 2 commercial buildings locally that don’t even come close to what he’s up against so any advice is welcome.

Thanks!
