Checking in.

As of 1500hrs yesterday, I am on vacation for the next ten days :grinpimp:

No town run today. Mrs and her dad went to a funeral service for one of his long time friends. The groomer came for the man-eater. I ordered some 3D printed spice racks for the trailer from Etsy. Those came in today, so I got those installed.

I plan on getting up early tomorrow and get in hopefully my last mow of the season. Then I’ll probably spray a few areas that have weeds that just don’t want to die. Then if the wind cooperates, I’ll put the shade cloth back over the back deck. I think we have a skunk under the sea container again 🤢

I need to figure out what to do for dinner, Mrs is bringing her dad back to have dinner with us after they get back from the funeral. I think I’ll start with a Shiner 😊

Since it's not your forst Rodeo with the stinky fawkers, I'm sure you know about the one way door trick.

In having an appetizer before dinner is finished cooking 😂

Do I spy some okra in that veggie mix:smokin:

Hanging out at Miramar MCAS, staying above the hard deck, buzzing towers and watching my son get promoted.

Congrats, to both of you.

And the poor kid front right of picture looks like he's a throbbing red pimple about to pop. Boy needs to learn to breathe:laughing:

called it a day on beating the trough for the auger into shape, welded ends on it and tossed it atop the car
we'll torch out the holes for the bearings when they show up, ebay's finest chinese trash, mm mmm

ran the mower for a while, a 2.0 m18 battery will ALMOST turn it over, gonna try a 5.0 nextertime
cut some concrete with the angle grinder, gotta make a shelf on a column for an arch to key into, since concrete doesn't do the tension thing at all

Crap, that reminds me. I have two seats in the back of my car I need to weld for work. Might as well do that while the garage is empty and somewhat clean. Guess I gotta put real pants back on.

you losers', it's only 2:39 here and I'm still working

Just recieved one of those $120 amazon 9" drywall sanders that you can hook a shop vac up and sand drywall 'dust free'. we will see about that later on tonight....

Couple of beers in

Ok so the cheap Amazon drywall pole sander connected to a shop vacuum really does suck up like 99% of the dust. Works pretty well although it is a bit heavy. Wouldn't wanna run it for more than a few minutes. Bit if want almost no drywall dust, it's great.

In. Not much of ****ing anything going on this weekend.

Gotta try to fix the TV, the backlight LED's are failing one by one.

And I am messing with SOLIDWORKS and have no idea what I'm doing. It's certainly not intuitive... At all. I was mildly able on a very old version but I've since forgot everything. Definitely kicking my ass. Just trying to make up a pretty basic sheet metal bracket with 2 90* bends.

In, worked my ass off all week, went with the wife to pick up our 4 yo grandson so she can take him to the balloon fest tomorrow. He is excited to go to breakfast with me in the morning :) The waitress is looking forward to seeing him again.

It was but don’t like how it came out going to try cooking it separately next time

When we painted, everything was pulled away from the buildings to be painted, including the sea container. I sealed up all of the holes along the perimeter except for one, or two spots (there is a small shed up against the container). I’m going to seal off one possible entry, and put a trap near the second. I’ll either catch a bunny, or Pepe LePew 🤢

If that doesn’t get the stinker, I’m resorting to some of my Army training 😈

Spent the day saving the wagon's fender. Mig welded up roughly 18 screw holes and a few bolt holes after sandblasting it out back. Spent 2 hours unclogging the pressure pot blaster because i left it outside filled with coal slag. Replaced the worn out nozzle tip that let the moisture in. Fun times:shaking:. Some grinding and rough sanding got me a fender i can do some amateurish bodywork onto.

Video chatting with the wife and viewing pics of the grandkids during dinner. She took the boys to get chinese. Im gonna eat some ****ty hot dogs and enjoy the board till i go to sleep.

The week went pretty fast. I want to spray the weeds tomorrow but the rain forecast doesn't look like that's going to happen. I also need to appeal/contest my property tax assessment . They're drastically increasing Colorado property taxes 30-70% next year:flipoff: for all homeowners and the deadline to contest it is the 8th. We had an amendment to prevent this but, due to deceptive ballot wording and dumb voters it was repealed in 2020.

That whole process is a scam/long winded. I wish you the best with it, around me they are talking about the houses yet again increasing in value, hint: get ready for higher property tax and who knows what else.

Crooks, a whole lot of them.

Since were talking about random stuff and Im sitting here looking at my Excursion.

Last Friday I called a shop that was recommended to me to install rotors and pads. Dude goes into his shpeal about installing customer supplied parts, how they dont fit, blah blah. So I tell him to give me a quote on the parts and labor. This dude quotes me $1300 for 4 rotors and pads for my junk. I informed him that I paid $1500 for the truck and that he was literally triple the price for just the parts than every parts place.

Needless to say I wont be using him

Years ago a friend of mine had his wife take her Crown Vic in for brakes at all 4 corners. They quoted her over 2K for "lifetime" replacement pads and rotors. He brought it by my place and I was able to do the job in under 3 hours with IIRC 200 in good quality parts.

Needless to say he was grateful and at the same time pretty angry at that shop who was trying to rip off his wife because she was a woman.

I've done it once, but to lower my taxes when values were in the tank.

I'd pull every crime stat you can for your area and send them a notice stating you refuse to continue to fund their ineptitude. :mad3:
