Found in a fly vest, looks to be for assisting in tying a form of knot....

Bout the size of a nickel, the tabs say to twist over and lock.

Can’t say I’ve ever seen a tool like this.

Are the tips of the triangle pieces hollow? If so, it could possibly be used for tying nail knots.

Man, I’m not sure. Possibly something to hold your leader on until needed? I thought it might be for dubbing, but I’ve never seen a fly tying tool like that.

I'm stumped.
Looks like a clamping tool the wings clamp the foam ring in the middle.
it has 2 notches on the top @180* like some form of bobbin .
cannot spool much line on it ,way to small of a diameter...

Nope the bobbin part looks like the drum of a open n faced reel(centered axle type) baitcaster cept for the mushroom on top, the bottom side is dished in but it's all one chunk.
Think foam hose end washer pulled over into the groove
Sucked down better part of a pot of coffee watchin video this am...

Yes, it's in the link... but the description is not great. Looks like it clips on to stuff using the "u-fas" system so you can mount to clothing instead of using the d-ring to hang it (or to mount a d-ring without puncturing the clothing I guess).

Streamworks is going thru a takeover and being phased out, the still had some of the d rings left and are sending them down.
