Been pretty sick with a cold for a few days, sick enough to stay home from work for a few days. Today was a gong show. We took the dogs in for their shots, that went ok but something at the vet got me to coughing something terrible. I head back to the car coughing, sneezing and tears a flowin when my coughing made my gut pop out through my hernia. BAM! right to my knees in the middle of the parking lot, some people ran towards me to help and others ran away. By the time the first person got there I had pulled up my shirt and poked the gut back inside with my thumb. Instant relief! I walked to the car like nothing happened still coughing and leaking tears.

Got home and managed to stall the blade n the lawn tractor so off we go to get a belt. We ended up in a local bar for lunch and I got into the Coronas and ate way too much, we came home forgetting all about the belt.:laughing:

I got some chicken grilled up so tonight it'll be chicken, Caesar salad and some fries with a very early rack time for me.

Just sitting around, drinking an NA beer and watching On Patrol: Live. During the commercials, doing some general cleanup in preparation for my FIL's visit tomorrow evening. He's coming to watch our son while we go to a concert on Sunday.

What concert, you ask?

One for a group that I loathe.

One group that my wife loves.

One to which she was supposed to bring her sister, but life happens and she wound up going to Florida to take care of their mother post surgery.

A hint: Eminem said they suck a lot of dick.:barf:

Where am I headed to suffer this weekend?

almost done pulling the compressor pieces apart and cleaning them... to finish the rebuild BGAIDEN and I started on Thursday.

Getting hammered after a long day of heat and job interviews/dealing with HR from the last job.

daiquiris... 8 oz rum, 4 oz triple sec per pitcher... on the second pitcher now.

In and ready for the weekend. Got to waste most of my day driving to a site 3 hours away to run a tape measure for a few minutes.

It’s ok though it’s only my third trip out to this site holding the hands of supposed professionals working for one of the biggest contractors in the world. I found a few things wrong so I got the opportunity to be shitty to an officious project engineer.

Anybody that owns a business approaching the 10 million mark and your CPA tries to convince you that you need a custom ERP software don’t do it, just keep limping along quickbooks and massive excel sheets forever. :lmao:

Still dealing with nine kittens. Four are about five weeks now. Five are about seven weeks. The small four are getting 5am feedings. The five have graduated to wet blendered dry food plus a little bit of 'formula' in the AM and PM to supplement it. All the little fuckers have sharp tiny claws.

Relaxing before a long day outside in the heat tomorrow. Fortunately, up the hill so a bit cooler than Sacramento. Then back to fixing the house:homer: Kind of a forced trip link so I can get gas $0.70 cheaper a gallon.

Work was… work.

I picked up steaks for dinner. Mrs and her dad like ribeyes, I prefer a filet. The three steaks I bought were all around $20 each. FIL kept eyeballing my 2” rare filet during dinner, I think I may bring him over to the “medium rare side” like I did his daughter :grinpimp:

It’s hot, going to be hotter tomorrow 🥵

In. We've been on RP 4 or 5 all week since last Sunday when ground fire sprung up and lit 550 acres of woods and marsh off near Atlantic NC. Was RP4 Monday so held at the office til released, which was 6:30 that day. About the time I got home pager went off and went back out and stayed out til after midnight plowing two fires in the same block of woods, and the second fire wasn't a spot fire. Kids maybe.
Anyway, been on RP5 since Tuesday because so many people have been out in the mountains for training this week so short staffed, and also so many resources on that big fire near Atlantic. So every day this week I've been at the office til 7pm when fire danger tends to reduce a little bit. Worked til 6:30 tonight with no fires in my county, but about the time i got home pager went off. It ended up not needing me to go plow fire lines, but I'm working right through the weekend until we get some rain.
Still love the job even though I've sat around like the Maytag repairman from 8 am to 7 pm all week, and by myself a couple days because the county ranger and ACR were both in training. I've found all kinds of ways to entertain myself around the office and shop this week, and cleaned shit that probably hasn't been cleaned in teh 20 years the office has been there lol.
 
Long week at work. Worked a bit late, then cooked up some steaks on the grill. After dinner we sat down and watched a movie.

Now doing some web surfin' watching DIrthead Dave.

Tomorrow if the weather cooperates it'll be a bunch of yard work.
 
At summer fest. Came to see drowning pool, currently watching en vouge.

En vouge is fucking killing it putting on a GREAT show.
