Electric vacuum pump donor vehicle and setup

When I went to fix this originally when I first got the van, I got the vacuum line under the hood from the engine and replaced it with silicone line that i already had, ran it into the cab and bypassed the factory check valve because it's impossible to get to. I put a new Motorcraft check valve on along with a new resevoir and ran new lines up to the controller and spliced the lines.
Is the check valve between the reservoir and the intake or between it and the controls?

Early psd used a belt driven diaphragm pump.

Later super duty used the electric pump he linked too early on.

That's what I was getting at, why try and half ass something together when Ford already did the half assing for him
I guess my thinking after this thread is that if I do have a leak, that electric pump isn't going to help much. I need to triple check that first and go from there. I am convinced that I don't have a leak, then I am going to get the pump.

When I say Fords are just complicated enough to give dumb people problems this is exactly what I mean. :lmao:

Pretty much every vac operated HVAC has had roughly the same troubleshooting steps since they became a thing half a century ago. This isn't rocket science.

I mean clearly ford built a piece of shit from the factory so there's no way the vents ever worked normally. I keep hearing grinding noises when I step on the brakes and it doesn't stop for shit, I've heard every ford gets like this because they're trash. Could you recommend a land anchor system I could attach to help me slow down?

Four wheel and off-road or four wheeler commented on the excursions vacuum hubs, not staying engaged with the AC on during desert testing. :stirthepot:

That’s nonsense. They don’t rely on constant vacuum to stay locked. They are a latching mechanism and only apply vacuum for 20-30 seconds while locking or unlocking.

I agree that you have a leak. Normally it’s the vacuum reservoir but you have it bypassed so that shouldn’t be doing it.

I know the 05+ ones are lock-unlock like a clicky pen
but are the 99-04 axles? because the excursions never made the jump to radius arms

Make the flap choke cable operated. Or check the flap to make sure it's not broken/slipping

Auto HVAC or manual knobs?

If Auto, check the connections on the back of the HVAC module in the dash. My brother's 2003 F-150 needed new o-rings on the HVAC module and that fixed it.
