Anyone got a link or suggestion on where I should be looking?

Looking at a 3” locking castor, quantity of six. Stopped by two box stores and Harbor Freight and didn’t see anything I liked or had enough in stock.

How much weight do they need to hold? Is this the usual irate workbench weighing 600 lbs empty with a 14 bolt on it?

if not, I’d go fancy with some multidirectional wheels. I have these on a motorcycle dolly, and they’re great for that small amount of weight.

I know, they’re not cheap. I haven’t really ever found any casters that were. And these things are damned easy to design around!

Is that your example of a "too heavy" bench? LOL mine's 2500lbs and I know even it is a lightweight on here.:lmao:
The earth is probably rotating around Panzer's.

Anywhooo, you guys post the weirdest shit. Those wheels are neat.

Its going to be a 3’x6’ mobile bench. The whole point for making it right now is that I don’t want to do fab work on my axle housings off jack stands anymore.

Parkrose hardware has a really good selection of casters at the Sandy blvd. store. If that isn't too far out of the way for you. They have literally bins full of each size. I just bought 3" swivel casters for a cart I built for my new welder and I think they had 6 or 7 different casters to choose from in that size.

I just bought 4 of these yesterday so I could build a wooden wheelie axle stand that I can roll around the shop. The second I put an axle on stands in the middle of the floor I need to use the floor for something and I didn't want to drag it around on the floor anymore.

I built a stand similar to this one in this thread, looks like he use the rollerblade wheel casters from harbor freight

Just saw after typing you wanted locking ones. Home Depot has these. I got the steel ones so I didn't get flat spots but idk if that would actually happen

both local to you. That’s where we get material handling stuff at work.

So I went out and picked these up today. After seeing what was available at the box stores and Harbor Freight I was very impressed.

These guys had shelves and shelves of builder parts for castors. The guy literally built what I wanted in front of me. My choice of wheel, height, lock, bearing, stud or flat mounting plate.

All that coupled with great service and a price just a bit over the box store.😎
