Do you enjoy getting tattoo's?

I’m curious of the people who love getting tattoos…

Do they enjoy the sensation, or being the center of attention?

I have a feeling, all of them will claim that they love the sensation…

I also have a feeling that really they crave the attention. An artist focused on them. Having others look at the work as it’s going in, and giving them validation. The whole experience.

Unless they were the emo, cutter, kid, who uses the tattoo needle to replace the razor sting.

Mhhh I'm tattooed. Got tattoos at 20. Now 50. Don't really at this point in life care about the ink. That said im sure some want attention. Mine are covered by a short sleeve t-shirt. And none know they are there.

I love my tattoos.

I REALLY want a complete pant leg, leg sleeve, whatever you want to call it.

I was mainly referring to the act of getting the tattoo.

I don’t always enjoy the getting.

Have none want none, don't see any need.
Wife has a small one on her wrist she regrets.
She did not enjoy getting it.

I find women with a lot of tattoos a turn off.

Too scared of needles (like no injections for dental work scared of needles - a totally irrational fear) to ever get tattooed

Had considered sharks (when I was diving) or dancing bears (fucking dead head hippy) both probably would have aged well. Or well enough

If I get really wasted in Thailand and do something I am going to regret it will be more along the lines of “Arsenal ‘til I die” though.

Nope. Too scared of needles. :smokin::lmao:

Thread asks, "Do you enjoy getting tattoos?", not "post only if you enjoy getting tattoos" :homer:

Do you get a discount on your tats because thin skin takes less ink? :flipoff2:
never attempted a thing, already an expert on the experience :grinpimp:

aaron's wife can respond if she wants :flipoff2:

Again, our reading comprehension differs. It appears you read the question as, "if you got tattoos, did you enjoy it?", in which case you would have a point. But that's not the question, so you don't

one time in grade school, I went with my mom into the old folks home for something
I saw what tatoos look like when you are old
that is all I needed to know

as a grown up, they are great for flagging people that make bad decisions :grinpimp::stirthepot:

I neither enjoy it nor abhor it, it is just an experience. LASIK was a way bigger mind fuck, mine is kinda wearing out after 20+ years and I'm delaying getting it touched up because I don't want to do it again. :flipoff2:

Dunno, never could think of something I was so into I felt it needed to be permanently inked on my skin.

Sure am glad I didn’t get that Super Swamper TSX pattern ‘tribal’ tattoo around my arm that I thought would be cool when I wasn’t old enough to legally drink…..
I don't understand the appeal eaither, to each their own. Seems like everyone over 30 anymore has one, more unique not to have one.

LOL, I know a guy got a bogger pattern all the way around his forearm.

It's funny you say that... growing up one of our neighbors was a WW2 vet and had old black and grey tattoos (possibly from sailor jerry in Honolulu, as thats where he was stationed) that had obviously aged from the 40s until the late 80s... he was an old salty fucker smoked a pipe and all... and honestly they were fascinating as a young kid... since starting my own collection of body art I cant wait til im the old dude with weathered tattoos, and I look forward to telling the stories of where I was and what they mean to my grandkids one day...

INot that I am justifying anything at all because IDGAF what anybody else thinks about them, but I was 34 before i got my first one in 2012 and will probably continue until my skin is too old to take ink... :grinpimp:

At least I didnt get a limp biskit tattoo at 20 years old like one of the other fucksticks I went to school with,,, :flipoff2:

There are 3 meanings to tattoos, what it means to the artist, what it means to society, and what it means to the person its on.... only 1 really matters...

… hmmm. Woulda been better if the girl knew what it was supposed to look like.. even tho she was given a picture.

Wouldn’t say I find them enjoyable. Under the arm is kinda tender. But I’m not planning on any more at this time (have 3). My tattoo artist passed from Covid.. like the only person I know.

dont they put a sticker thing on first, and ask you to look in the mirror?

Have two. First time, I was really surprised at the chill feeling I got from the endorphins or whichever chemical it is. Second one was two visits and I was looking forward to both of them because of that feeling.

I'd really like another, but I'm out of things that mean enough to ink them on me.

I don’t “like” it, but I also don’t dislike it.

I have a few. Want more but always end up spending my money on other stuff instead. Both of my boys have way more than I do.

Idk man, tattoo's don't really serve a purpose.
If you want art you should just buy a painting.
If you like pain find a girlfriend that will spank you.
I'm covered, they all mean something and decades later I would prefer to just not have them.

Yes, I enjoy the process and the pain. The pain is my comfort zone and the endorphins are nice. You have to be a masochist on some level
I'm fully sleeved/back/chest and calves. Couple of 6hr sessions, that actually made me physically sick. 3-4 hrs are the sweet spot for me. Some times though your body/brain are just not into it, I've had that happen twice. Just paid for the session and came back another time to get it done.

Anyone who says they don't hurt is full of shit. Some hurt more than others and where it didn't hurt too bad last time can make you a baby the next.
