What's new

Do we have a sock thread?

Red wings has a merino wool sock that they have a lifetime warranty on. They’re def expensive. I have a bad habit of wearing just them out side, around the house and not cutting my toenails. I get a couple years out of a pair. They say they’ll warranty them no matter what. I’ve warrantied one pair cause I finally wore through the toes and the other my cat decided to shed the shit out of them.
That warranty is no longer valid according to my local store. Dumb shits stopped producing my go to boot for 15 years. Seems like all they sell is “heritage” boots for the guy who wants to wear pre worked in work boots to make it look like they can do more with their hands than jerk themselves and others off.

Good ol costco made in 🇺🇸 socks. Wool in winter from various brands...but made in 🇺🇸 is mandatory.

UA tennis shoes socks. Some sort of wool blend boot socks. All the same, screw trying to match up socks.

Since 2011 Amazon says I have ordered 47 pairs of :

Darn Tough Merino Wool Boot Sock Full Cushion

They are $30 a pair and when wore out Darn Tough replaces them pretty easily under warranty, I usually warranty them once. When they get holes I throw them in an empty drawer until I have 5-10 pairs to send in. I have not found anything better that can stop my right foot from wearing through the bottom, and they are comfortable. Size 13 here, XL sock size.

Just picked up some Carhartt Midweight cotton blend crew and they are very soft and comfortable. I am a 12.5-13 wide and the XL fit great.

For long days of standing or activity, I use Lasso Compression knee high socks. Those are great for plantar fasciitis, diabetics, or just fatigue management.

Redback Bamboo are about all I wear now, I buy them from the Matco guy but they sell them online as well. I have a pair of darn tough I got for free with some boots once, they're nice but I'm not paying what they cost

Everyone of the Darn Tough Ive owned was either too tight, or way to big.

I liked the darn tough stuff, but they went woke.

Need to find the next best thing as mine are getting wore out

I haven't used them but they get recommend alot. I have alot of Fox River and just started with Duck worth.

Damn it, I just looked it up to confirm and you’re 100% correct. Guess it’s time to stop spending so much on socks. My second fave socks were the matco tool truck socks which are Redbacks.

Darn tough and smart wool different weights for the seasons. My feet sweat so much summer or winter that if wearing leather boots I will have salt rings. Wool socks are the only thing that leave my feet smelling good.

Fox River. Costco used to sell some that were the same. When they stopped selling them I went to the foxs.

Socks are consumables. Replace them regularly you cheap fuck. I buy new socks every few months.

No one wears bamboo?! I love mine but forget the mfg. Dry feet and outlast cotton and some wooleys.

I only wear darn tough or farm to feet. I stopped buying darn tough when they went policial with the Black Lives Matter nonsense and switched to a non woke brand. Similar socks and price.

Alpaca wool is the one I keep seeing ads for, anyone have anything to report from experience?
Worst decision I ever made. Bundled a bunch of discounts last year and bought a few pairs of PACAS socks.

I don't wear anything else on my feet now...

Warm, comfortable, soft, and they don't 'slump' or fall down very easily.

On long multi-day motorcycle trips, I can wear the same pair for several days and they don't get matted down or smelly like cotton socks.

Now I just have to put them on my Christmas list this year, because I can't afford to keep buying them. :flipoff2:

Wigwam Tube socks calve length
Mostly cotton

I have wore them since 7th grade football because that is what the school gave us
They stay up and last about 6 months

I like white cotton because that is healthy for your feet, black man made polyester not so much.
