Dead tooth

Bull****. When I had my wisdom teeth pulled the dentist ended up breaking one of the teeth into pieces with pliers after yanking on it for 20 minutes. My mouth bled for 2 months straight.
When they don't come out the normal way the term they use is impacted , a fancy word for they be coming out the hard way ( in pieces ).

I was 18 when all four of mine came out , yup they where all impacted , doc gave me a shot of Demeral and I didn't feel **** till the next day.

Demerol? The Navy Doc gave me Motrin 800 and I went back to work after the procedure.

Tooth is dead. Get evaluated and see if you can just get a root canal and crown and be good to go.

if there is too much decay or the tooth has a fracture on the root, it will be pulled. See what your options are to get a new tooth there. Usually either a bridge or implant but only guessing as I don’t know what you have going on in your mouth.

As for Demerol, that is for sedation. Yea, it helps deaden a little pain, but it is just a week form of fentanyl. I currently use both. I like fentanyl but good luck finding any of that mess.

Transgender or eunuch stuff?
Precancerous lump.

I got shot in the nuts with a pellet gun when I was 12 and it caused a thing like a third ball on my left nut.

It caused a thing to grow that later died.

Good times, would recommend to anyone.

Not needed to agree with a surgeon but I wiill second this. The sooner you get in to get it fixed, the better you chances are for saving it. I had my front incisor get punched by a buddy when we were on his trampoline. It turned dark. They tested it with the root stim thing and I felt nothing. They drilled it out and did a white fill which fixed the color for about 15 years. Then I had a bike crash, broke that tooth and the lateral incisor next to it.... so they crowned the incisor and bonded the lateral.

If I would have waited for the incisor it would have rotted out eventually and I would have needed an implant or bridge or something.

I had inner braces when I was a kid and then wore retainers to bed for years after the braces were removed. Got tired of the retainer crap and stopped using them like 7 years ago. The tooth that is browning has shifted to about 4 oclock over the years. Then it started browning from bottom up about three months ago. I would say it is about 60% discolored.

I brush daily with a sonic brush and floss every other day. My teeth aren't terrible.....ish. i hated brushing as a kid so they aren't sparkling white.

I am guessing the tooth shifting may have something to do with it.

If you have a majority of your teeth, you are doing better than 95% of the people I work on. I do a lot of implants in my practice, but if a tooth can be saved, I try to encourage patients to save them.
Sounds like the tooth may have been dead for some time but now starting to abscess. Tough to tell exactly but the pressure and inflammation around the tooth will cause them to shift and move around sometimes. Get it checked out the sooner the better as the story above told that you have more (and usually cheaper) options. I get paid a lot to fix when patients don’t come in until they just have to and there is a lot of destruction.

the ones on my jaw are too close together, one of them is starting to poke out funny and the enamel is wearing through
prolly be in your boat at some point, kinda wonder if I shouldn't just get it pulled now to give the others room to move over rather than getting all displaced over time...

Had a hot tooth root canal. They couldnt numb it. Hurt like a mother ****er, bent his arm rests in the chair. He said dont bite me please, I responded with then hurry the **** up. He did and he got it done like a boss. Went back to work a few hours later. Drank around a 1/5 of scotch that night and life was normal again. I stay the **** away from pain pills. They just seem like they would own me.

I let a tooth get so bad it needed a root canal. The pain was so bad I wouldn't have cared if there was no numbing. Afterwards all the pain was from getting my jaw pried open during the procedure, I had it done as an emergency procedure on christmas eve, thank god for jewish dentists. Before that experience I would have looked down on people who need excessive painkillers, now I say there is no shame in percoset, that **** is magical.

Get your **** fixed, teeth don't grow back, and they play into both self image and how others view you too, thats just the way it is. Get it fixed.

I had 2 teeth break in half from old fillings that fell out. Got them both pulled and replaced with implants. Well worth it

I had gotten a root canal in a tooth as a kid. 25 years later I was in excruciating pain for a few days, I was sitting at work with ice on my face when I declared I had to go home and all my coworkers were taking bets on when I would leave. Apparently I was white as a ghost and sweaty.

The original root canal was incomplete and I developed an abscess in my tooth/jaw. The puss was just filling up in my jaw and creating the pain. The day after my first consult the pain got significantly better and when I showed up the next day to have the tooth pulled the doctor told me that was because the puss had breached my bone and relieved the pressure. I'll never forget the smell or amount of puss that came out of my head after they pulled the tooth. That was when they told me people have died from them because the infection reaches their brain.

Getting the tooth pulled, bone graft, implant, crown etc was nothing compared to the pain of the abscess. I've had a 10 mm kidney stone and would prefer that over the abscess.

Lol anyone ever had a reverse root canal?

A surgeon pulls the tooth hands it to a dentist, he does the root canal (starting at the bottom) then the surgeon "pops"it back in..

Weird experience. The tooth only lasted about 3 years, started aching and had to be removed. :frown:

You don’t even have to extract them. You can do them by cutting into the bottom of them. Called an apicoectomy. You can also transplant teeth placed in the mouth.

How much does an implant Cost? Ballpark.

Full on fake tooth, not the ball and socket for partials.

My mom had to have one of them when I was born as my head was so big.:homer:

I had 2/3 broken into 4 pieces with a chisel and hammer because they were under the molars.

I took one OXY, took a nap, and swore that **** off forever. Ibuprofen and fine in a few days.

Teeth drilled is fine. Root that died, got infected, and then had a needle jammed directly into that abscessed nerve because he didn't numb it enough. Holy **** that made me see lightning. Every nerve across my face lit up and I thought my face was going to explode.

ive had a lot of shots throughout my life but only two pushed it up over the 10 on the 1-10 scale. First was a penicillin shot in my ass check after breaking my foot on a dirt bike crash (alcohol maaaaay have been involved or may not have ) still to this day I don’t know why they gave me that shot. The hospital in a small town south of me had no doctor on staff at the time. About a year later that hospital shut down. Hummmm

secound and by all means the most painful shot I have ever received was from when I pulled my left arm bicep muscle off of my forearm. You have two week period to have it repaired. So prepping for surgery they gave me a local shot before going under. They used a ultrasound up on my shoulder to locate my arm nerve. Then he says “you’ll feel a little bee sting”. Ok I felt that and then the novocaine was injected into my arm nerve. I could feel it moving down my arm and it was not a pleasant experience whatsoever. That shot I would put close to the 20 on a 1-10 scale. My arm was numb for a couple days but that what they want to happen. But **** did that bitch hurt. Pulling the muscle off wasnt as bad as that shot was and normal shots don’t bother me.

Need to get a root canal before it gets worse. Had this happen when i was about 10 but we caught it before the tooth got really dark.
