Forget about old pics, fact is we are waaaay worse off now than we were 40 years ago. Worse food, more calorie intake, less movement. Obesity rates are off the charts. This was the trend years before the body positivety thing too. We started going downhill in the 80's and 90's, suffered through the 00's, and ran off the cliff around '10.That's more about the shame fatties used to carry vs. the big and proud ones we have today. Back then, you wouldn't catch a fatty dead in a bathing suit, but today they love flaunting the rolls and cottage cheese in bikinis and spanx.
I totally agree on the moving the goalposts thing with BP, blood sugar, etc etc. I have no doubt this is healthcare industry trying to get us all on maintenance drugs for life. Yes. It's absolutely a thing. But it doesnt change the fact that we are on average lump meat sacks of garbage compared to our grandparents and great grandparents time.
