It seems like about every month to every other month some clown jumps off of a cruise ship into the middle of the ocean. Most never get rescued and are lost at sea.

What gives with this? What the fawk would make someone jump off of a cruise ship knowing their chances of survival are very slim? Suicide or what?!?

Jump, thrown, or drunkenly fall?

(not speaking to this guy in particular)

We have locals jumping off bridges into the water below around here, is that the same thing- :flipoff2:

If I was the glamorous suicidal type that loved attention, I couldn't think of a better way to go?

I've witnessed a suicide before. Wasn't pretty. This might make it sorta pretty...

I had to read the article to see if the ship was moving. One thing if he jumped while docked or on anchor. Why would you jump from a moving ship where its not easy to just "turn around" and scoop you up.

Fucking idiot.

How did the suicide go that you witnessed if you don’t mind sharing?

I’ve never witnessed one but know a lot of people including some friends who’ve committed suicide.

Several shortly after. Gun, noose, knife, car into bridge abutment, jumped off a 3 story building. He survived but is a vegetable.

Cleanup of c17 crash in 2010. was supposed to be clean of remains, we were looking for munitions. Wasn't clean of remains. Not suicide, but still not pleasant.

A friend does towing, he deals with fatality crashes often. He's got some screws loose though, like brough up a story of a person's head rolling out of the car and down the street at supper once.

Probably 4 years to date. My best friend / Brother-in-law was at the house helping me work at the shop like he did about every other weekend. He spent lunch next to his van drinking beer eating a pack of crackers as usual while I went in and ate. I walked back out and then he just walked out in the woods having no idea he had a 44 magnum tucked in his pants. I figured he had to piss even though he usually just turned around and pissed wherever. Heard it and saw him drop from the corner of my eye. Never saw it coming. Was just another day except that I guess he was still struggling to get over his wife (my wife's sister) leaving him 2 years before for another guy. He never got over it I guess and I wanted to do it at my place, my guess was just to have someone close to know how and when and report it and such for he lived alone. No note or anything. There was nothing left to even resuscitate.

I haven't cried since my dad passed. I just cried.
