Awesome build.
How did you attach your rails and stiles to each other?
Any details on the CNC setup?
Thank you. I only use glue on shaker style doors. Never had a failure that I know of out of probably 200-300 doors over the years. Titebond 2 is all I use unless its for something outside and then I will use Titebond 3. I have done some large doors that I have used a mortise and tenon on but those are really big and heavy.
CNC router is a Shapeoko 3 XXL. This is a pretty old model now but still gets it done for me as a hobby guy only.
Well done! How long did it take you?
Thanks! About a year from drive in to about what you see in the pics. I am single so that is pretty much most weekends, many nights after work, and I have a lot of time off and most of those days would be working on it. Obviously there is a lot I didn't show. Something like removing all the windows behind the doors and resealing them all, replacing all the STUPID fucking cables and keepers for every door handle, plumbing diesel lines, water lines, etc. A ton of shit actually.
Very nice work. Where’d you come up with that expandable bed idea?
Have guess of how much money in it?
Thanks!!
Not sure honestly where the bed idea came from. I came home from a night trip and thought about how I could make what I had in place work but be larger because I didn't want to strip that whole rear area and start over and that came to me. Maybe I had seen it done somewhere before and my subconscious prodded me? I don't know.
Probably about 20-22k. All the electrical stuff is Victron and it's pricey!! 3 Battle Born LiFePO4 batteries aren't cheap either. This thing mission creeped on me like crazy. I probably have $1000 in wire. All the grey tweed fabric wasn't cheap but I love that look from the old Street Rod days.
I could have bought a decent Class A for what I have in it for sure but that was the point of this. I had a beautiful Class A but it was too big, too expensive to drive with gas and I wanted something I can park in a regular National/State Park parking area, pull over somewhere without too much attention and crash out, etc.
