What's new

Cigar Smoker's: What's in your humidor now?

Here's what's in mine right now.

CAO Flathead 660, East India Trading Company Red Witch, East India Trading Company Wicked Indie, Arturo Fuente Rosado, Arturo Fuente Rosado, Rocky Patel Vintage 1990, Gurkha Marquesa, Cohiba Red Dot Blue, Cohiba Red Dot Toro, East India Trading Company Havana Blend.

:smokin:
These are what I'm looking into.
There were others but I forgot to bookmark them as they popped up.
I like the darker tobacco.

My Girlfriend likes Fat Bottom Betty's and really likes the Fuentes and Marquesas.

There's a misconception that because someone is new to smoking cigars, a mild one is where you should start.
Agreed. Don't just go for mild flavors or a light Connecticut wrapper. The blends you'll find nowadays aren't like the old ones where flavor and strength are tied together. I'm a lightweight with strength but prefer bigger flavors.

There's no problem with trying a flavored/infused stick either. I like them once in a while and they're a great way to train your palette to pick out individual flavors. I like the chocolate/coffee kinds, but the fruit and potpourri ones are :barf:

Easier to post pics than type it all out. The desktop humidor has a variety of singles and my special occasion sticks.

That's a hell of a nice humidor. Got any more pics of it.

Lot of nice cigars too! :smokin:
It's got a cigar oasis and I added some computer fans to circulate the air for 5 minutes every hour.

And a pic of my pipe stuff. 😁

Nice I'm jealous now.

I used to have a lot of pipes but an ex destroyed them as a going away present.

Have an end table humidor with most of my stuff. Also a new small Audew. It has what's left of my box of God of Fire and a box of My Father La Antiguedad. Cabinet top drawer has my Camacho Corojos (getting low, need more), a box of San Cristobal that has been a big disappointment, and assorted odds and ends including a DE Egg that I have had for probably 10 years. The rest of the shelves have a good supply of CLE Azabache which I love but are getting harder and harder to find. A box of Oliva Gs that is at least 5 or 6 years old and they have become pretty amazing with the aging. Leaf by Oscar Corojos- Love these things! Box of El Güegüense (these are good, but if buying something from Foundation I will stick with the Tabernacle Havana Seeds from now on). Also have an impulse buy of the Cao Vision with the glowy box/humidor. Haven't tried one of these yet.

David Blanco stopped by a few weeks ago for a cut and light event. If you're a fan of Liga Privada #9's the Blanco Nine is a definite win.

It was interesting to hear how they were developed at the same time.

The Cigar Obsession Series Reserva is another one that will be in my rotation for a while, and the 2nd third goes damn well with some Woodford Rye.

So, I thought we could get Cohibas in the states. Is that not true ?
I smoked the last of my Habanos and would like to replace them. 4X40's or something like that. I'd be happy with the ones posted above even

You can get the "new world" Cohibas very easily in the States. But I can't stand them. If you're looking for Cubans, you need to go to a site like ihavanas or other similar sites. Here's a nice list from Reddit

I used to in a past life work in Europe. The Cubans were available, counterfeits were even more available. I shipped boxes and boxes of the good stuff home way too much, and got away with it.

Cuban Punch I liked so very much more than the Punch available here. La Gloria Cubana, from the old country is also a very good choice, and so very different from what is available here. The local variants are not from Cuba and are very dummied down in flavor and strength.

I like a very full body full strength cigar.

For the price of a Cuban in this country, I would skip it.

My experience is that some of the better stuff from Nicaragua and Honduras are so close to the forbidden fruit, that I don't even try to find the forbidden Cubans.

Cohibas are Cohibas. The market is the name, or the obverse, and they are aimed at the folks who do not use cigars on a regular basis.

So much many more betterer sticks are available in this day and age.

I agree with this. I am a big fan of Nicaraguan sticks more than any others. I read a long-ish article in a magazine recently that detailed the Oliva history and how they fled Cuba and moved to multiple places before discovering how great Nicaragua was. Was a pretty interesting read. Here is a much shortened version from their web site. Heritage - Cuban Seed Cigars | Oliva Cigars

I've been debating selling off all my sticks. Well most of em. Thinking about going down to just the desktop humi and keeping a few handfuls of my favs.

How does one determine the value of "pre owned" cigars?

You can send some my way Mrs. McBallgarggle. I only have about 60 sticks. I’m running low.
