Car Registration $

Is that second year or later registration? Probably cost you $1500 to register it the first time?

Dang. Like $75 for stuff here in vt. More if registering a truck with hauling capacity.

Trailer is $52 a year, Motorcycle is $48.

When I registered my f250, the lady behind the counter didnt even ask and did it for the lowest weight. made it the same as a car. Sure it was "over weight" sitting in the driveway empty.. but no one cares if your not commercial.

around here it is on a sliding scale for the first 10 years
so when it's brandy new you're probably paying something like 5% of the MSRP
second year like 2%
at 10 years and beyond it is 35 bucks a year unless it's weight plates

$500 for two bikes, the F250, dad-wagon, and a trailer.

:lmao: The only reasonable registration CA has is for boats, trailers (not travel/ rv) and ohv’s…

I remember when that passed... "If you can afford an escalade, you can afford to pay more for your tags." My BIL spent $80k on an audi that hear and bitched and moaned about his $1400+ tags... "well... you voted for this ****... "

$215 for an SUV in NY

It seems excessive
Just renewed the NY registration for my 09 Ranger 4x4. It has passenger car plates, weighs 3750 pounds, $70 for two years. Cost is based on weight, a porky 5000 pound SUV could be 215 bucks for two years. Motorcycle is $15 a year...One of my bikes has Vermont plates, $43 a year

Mine was supposed to be cheap this year. 30 years qualifys for a antique plate which is super cheap. But apparently a f250 weighs to much to be antique

$35 a year for whatever here, trailers are cheaper, RVs are cheaper, trucks with weighted plates are more expensive.

**** the whole idea of your registration being tied to your vehicles value. That's just another property tax. bad enough they get sales tax on used vehicles.

I pay about that for a '01 worth about 1500 bucks, just because it was expensive when new and that's what they base it on.

6 vehicles in age from 97-2021. $480.
Trailers. Not required here.

don't miss the costs of the blue state.

Try it downstate with the MTA penalty tax added in. And then, mandatory 2 year registration with payment in full up front and no backsies if you turn in your plates along the way.

But they have commie politicians in charge, so you got that.

22 F350, tagged at 20k- $895 taxes and registration

In MT it's a sliding scale for 10 years, after 10 years it's $80 for permanent plates. New or newer cars are $230 a year  . I pay around $700 a year for my fleet.

I just got the notices for my 1992 Toyota 2wd truck $90 and my 1990 Toyota 2wd truck with personal plates is $132 which oddly is down from the $180ish it was last year.

Just got mine in today's mail. 2016 ***an XD (5/8 ton) tagged for 17k lbs. $571.77.

It's almost worth dropping the weighted tags way down and just risking the ticket the few times a year that I actually tow heavy.
