CA: Export only ***le?

Was about to buy a 2007 F450 with a gas engine, but the california pink slip had export only stamped in a few places. Google shows its when an out if country dealer buys the vehicle. Seller said he uses an agency wholl transfer it to my name with no issues.

Never dealt with this, whats the scoop?

It has smog done, and is 4x4

In my state export only usually means it’s been wrecked and structural damage is major and the state doesn’t want it back on the road in the USA .
 
Thats salvage ***le here, you can plate anything.

I found the original auction, its not wrecked, ex ATT truck.

out of USA. Not a carb issue, its gasoline, passee smog.

internet is hit and miss on the topic, dmv may deny it because it was bought by out ofbstate dealer, but third party service may do the transfer ok. :confused:

Whats the purpose of half of my vehicles? Its a disease man. Ill buy it, then figure something out. Probably hook up a gooseneck to it, and dream of a cummins swap. I am in the truck biz, so eventually **** gets used. Using the boom truck with the 12v to put up some cameras now, so :grinpimp:

Edit: if you can’t get it to him I will bring it to Nevada and figure out something to do with it.

this 6500 dollar truck is 3 times the truck my 2020 f250 is, I like it

I'd buy that theory. Headlights, grill and upper bumper valance are definitely new. I bet the core support looks like a piece of wadded up tin foil if they didn't cut it out and replace it all. Judging by the hood, I'd say they probably didn't. :laughing:

correct. none of the truck carb stuff applies to gas vehicles


regarding accident, nada, looked everywhere, also I saw the auction photos from march from city, as it was, no accident. Sold for 2150 with a boom, I paid 6500 without the boom
