So racing might be a stretch but we tryin :lmao:. I have a thread on other sites but nothing as active as Irate so thought id make one here incase anybody is interested in following along with some redneck junk. Long story short, i've been offroading my whole life (33) with my dad (62). Started in rail buggies as a kid, moved to dirt bikes which moved to racing hare scrambles as a teenager. I wanted to get back into 4x4 stuff and bought my first toyota cab truck at 18. Around 6 years ago, dad bought a buggy and we have been hitting it hard ever sense. Last year we bought a newly used 4800 car and the motor locked up on us due to a stupid mistake on our part which killed our 2024 season. Motor is back and we are trying to get ready for 2025. This thread will include racing, trail riding, and werock as we are putting together a budget (if there is a thing) comp car also (goatbuilt jhf). Some pics incoming.

My personal buggy is a M&M Offroad

Last project we finished up was our friends wod front axle swap. He deployed in march and put the order in with wide open for basically the biggest 14b you can get from them. Rcv sucks dick and kept pushing the axle ship date to the point we thought we was going to have to fix his 60 cause it had been around 4 months with no shafts. Finally got shafts and we went and picked it up. We finished it up 2 days before he arrived home from deployment.

As time allows, I've been working on the axles for the jhf. Front is a kingpin 609 and rear is a super shave 14b with 05up outers. Wms is around 67"

Why mixing kingpin and SD60?
Because budget and I have a ton of kp stuff already. I stripped a gm60 so just needed to buy Cs. Kingpin stuff has been really good to me over the years and with turbo 22r it won't be an issue imo. Easy fix if it is though with branik shafts.

That's kind of what I figured. When I was putting my buggy together, it was money ahead to sell kingpin stuff and buy 2-3 SD60s.
this, ppl think kingpins are gold. While they work, i wouldnt use one from scratch. I want to upgrade my truggy to '05+ but this point its not worth the logistics unless i went new suspension too.

Exactly. Got a NOS bare KP Chevy 60 housing I bought waaay back when for $500 that I thought I'd be using for a build someday. I wouldn't start with that as my base now for a build if I could help it.

Any affiliation with WFO Concepts? Just wondering based on the user name.

Before I get too carried away, would y'all worry about only having 1" of spine engagement on a front shaft instead of 1.5"? I can fix it but it's going to require beating the C back off with a hammer and trimming the housing another 3/8".

Me and pops got out Saturday in the krx and did 117 miles. We live in the wheeling Mecca of the southeast. Pictures are "Dean wheel house" in literally middle of nowhere outside of Windrock on state property. Probably used for coal car transportation up and down the mountain.
