Bull bar

Will this thing kill me and everyone around if used for recovery with a kinetic rope? The crossbars feel pretty thin walled.

Ultimately I’ll be using this as a template to build something a lot more sturdy that can accommodate a winch. Found it in storage and threw it on for TDS.

That is NOT a recovery point. You need a hook bolted directly to the frame.

Best case, it pulls the bull bar and bumper off your truck. Worst case, it ends up planted in whatever vehicle you yank on it with. Those are for looks/light mounting and that's about it.

That said, if shipping wouldn't be murderously expensive, I'd take it off your hands when you're done with it, been looking for one for my dentside.

Figured as much. Probably going to pull it off, take my measurements/make a template and then I'll reach out to you about sending it your way.

Cut that existing tube out and replace with some big sch40 and tie all the tabs in as much as possible.

My first bumper was one of those with some 4" pipe and yarded more trucks out with it than anything else. Your pull needs to be inline with the frame. The lower bracket wrap under is bullshit and useless but everything helps.

Yeah, looking at it my plan now when I design something based on this is to slot the front of the bumper and just go thru it instead of wrapping under it.
