Anyone seen anything about this? Scrolling down on the page there is a link to Sling TV... maybe some sort of partnership?

My last hope of remaining in my small home town right after college I was the assistant manager. I could slickly rewind 2 at a time using both hands. I was the hit of every party with everyone knowing I had at least 1-2 new releases out in my car.
Then one day I decided to pack up everything I could into my little 3 cylinder with no reverse Chevy Sprint. Without even a 1 day notice I cranked up and never looked back...

To this day I have no idea why that car was a 4 door because it wouldn't go over 40 with 4 people. But when I had 4 people inside it was back country roads with a cooler of beer. So...

Do you think with all the streaming stuff a rental store would make it? I can see if the store had a huge selection of older stuff it might have a possibility of making it.

I'd use em. Rather pay for the 2 movies per year I want to watch than pay 16 a month to not watch whatever garbage is on Netflix

Wait just a fucking minute. What's this about? I saw it in the grocery store locally, bought it, drank it, seemed ok. Plus it's in a proper sized can. Am I a hipster without knowing? I did not give consent.
AB either bought the rights to the brand or pulled them out of storage. It's more or less the same stuff AB always makes but in a fancy can aimed at late boomers and old gen x who have fond memories of pissing themselves drinking that shit in the early 80s.

I'm sure the beer itself is better than it was back then just due to sheer progress but it's a pure marketing ploy. Kind of like that time Ford re-named the Taurus the Five Hundred

I don't know. I want it to happen, since streaming services are stupidly priced these days.

Redbox just declared bankruptcy last week.

Not nostalgic enough about it to forget the rape charges on late fees. Only being able to rent new releases for one night.

I’d use a Family Video again though. Blockbuster isn’t doing anything for me.

haven't seen it
but my kid would be all over it

she wishes she was a kid in 1985

Be kind Rewind

My 13 year old dresses like she's from the 80/90's it's wild. She is wearing the same clothes that were popular when i was in middle school.

Redbox removed all the bluerays and hadn't added a new movie since Barbie came out a year ago. I used to use them a bunch until they stopped getting new movies.

Someone bought the brand name and is pairing it with an unremarkable product in order to extract money from nostalgic idiots to whom the name is worth something.

Like a Chevy Blazer or Narragansett beer :flipoff2:
Well ill be fucked. We agree on something

We rent old movies from the 90s/00s on DVD for the kids to watch in the camper. I don't think there's money to be made in that business, however, as I wouldn't pay to rent them, nor would I risk late fees. Blockbuster could easily license the IP, as there is value there, somehow.

Mine just found my old stash of cloths that I never wear, and haven't worn long enough I was surprised that I still had them
T shirts purchased with Camel Bucks, Spuds Makenzie and the sort

You would have thought that she just found One Eyed Willys Treasure

Thought you mean Block Buster in Iowa for a min.
They were bought by a big farm equipment outfit a month or two and are starting to make processors again.
Were just "existing" since rona before and not building anything.

blockbuster and video rental stores disappearing left a big void, I am surprised it hasnt been taken up yet.

I was boycotting BB for years before they closed. I frequented family video until they shut it down though. Front row seat till they shut it down. I’m a movie nerd because I hate commercials and I hate tv shows. Kinda funny to see Redbox put BB out of business then start having issues themselves.

I used to travel in a motor home or a van that had DVD players in them. I’d rent a red box movie in one state and return it like a thousand miles later in another state, hoped truckers did the same.
