What's new

Blackbox thrust washers and fork guides

Yes, eco box for the ford np205. What oil are you running in yours? My d300 eco box is going on 5 years old and I haven't seen any wear like yours.

You are living this meme right now:flipoff2:

Thread that roll pin for a machine screw. Then pull the shaft from outside of box. Should be able to pull the shift collar then.

I run 75w90 synthetic in mine.

100%. I'll have to snap a similar pic when I get back after it.

Too late I already pulled the 205 rear output. Then tried getting the Bb snap ring off the input shaft. That guy sucks! And is still on the shaft

Shift rail and fork have to come out :lmao:
I know, fml. How the shifters attach for that meme as well

Dude, that fucking sucks. So damn stupid
Tell me about it. I wouldn't buy a v1 bb. What if I tapped the bb so I could take the 8th bolt off backwards through the 205? Remove through the pto cover?

I don’t see why you can’t do that
Only think is that the opposite side has a tapered hex screw so it might be thinner. It would be easier to separate the halves though

Mike Honcho probably not the engineers fault but still.

Well it's all back together. Just as it was, replaced shift fork guides and going to hope for the best

Going to add a sight tube for the 205 while it's out

This thing is going to be the end of me. Needs to come all the way apart again

Was talking to a buddy about possibly getting an open bearing and just filling both cases enough so oil could go between both cases and tie the breathers in together.

There is no seal on the back of the BB? Are you supposed to green loctite or rtv the bearing outer race into the 205 case? How is that going to seal?

Here is my case rear case seal.

Yup the input shaft seal on the back side of BB prob rolled the lips. Been there done that started a whole thread on it.

Its tedious. Feel for ya.

Unless your 205 is clock way the frig up you'll not keep enough oil in it to keep the planetary of the BB in oil.

Why not do what NWF suggests and put the tilt on pump on it with a cooler?

Just re read that thread. Will make sure to install the bearing/seal with a fair amount of grease

Man, I feel your pain. This is a major suck.

I have a Tilton pump and a cooler and fittings & hoses I would sell cuz I removed my NWF Eco Blackbox, let me know if you're interested.

I was looking them up last night and damn, they aren't cheap and I don't really want to deal with setting it up. How has the magnum been?

Yea, they're not cheap and setting it up can be a chore finding a spot to put it and the cooler.

So far so good on the magnum box, but I've not driven it more than 45 minutes.

Is this a BB/ 205 specific issue, or should I watch for this seal issue on my BB/ 300?
I'd assume it's ever ecobox or blackbox or any doubler for that matter. There's going to be a seal between them. I fucked mine up on the initial install took a few thousand KM to cut the seal bad enough to leak internally.

You ground the ends smooth on the snap ring right?
