What's new

Black Friday 2024

Yea, the utb has more power and comparable sized parts so it's kind of a shit show. I stick to 1:10 scale and all dlux shafts and gears. 4s is hard on shit.
Heh, 4s makes a lot of things weak. Only one of my kids is running 3s on his crawler because he's the careful one. 2s on every other crawler, including mine.

Went to Wally world for a few things today and they had 85" Samsung TVs for $900. I damned near left with one but it was raining. :homer:
Would need like a 40ft long living room for a TV that big!

Just made me think, I can't even remember the last time I used my TV. Might have watched a couple movies last winter when I was sick.

When you absolutely, positively want to make things happen 4s is entry level.

The only thing I run 2s in is my radios. I have a bunch of 3s I bought from a buddy that upgraded to 4s that will go in the loaner sporty to keep it alive at the hands of noobs.

Or you just want to see tv like you're at the movies.:grinpimp:

...this is in a crawler? I know a lot of comp dudes who don't run 4s

Especially movies in 2.39:1 aspect ratio. With TV's standard 1.85:1 ratio, you're giving up a lot of screen real estate watching true wide screen format. Our friends just bought an 85" Sony, and we watched Twisters, (do not recommend), and the viewing distance was 15' or so and it was fine. There is actually a recommended viewing distance formula, but I don't remember what it is right now.

Yup, sporty, pro, C2 and C3, I run everything on 4s. :smokin: All my crawlers have servos that put out over 1000 oz too. I don't fuck around when it comes time to break things. :homer:

dayam! You should post up some vids of your comps. I'd kinda like to see a comp crawler putting down hp like that.

If it helps, we just got a 100" Hisense and I am impressed. Coming from a 12 year old TV it does not say too much but the room is mostly windows and it handles that well. It's fast, not buggy. But my old school hard drive can not be read by plugging it in to the HDMI port, and when you turn it on there are these bullshit previews I do not want my kids seeing. Last night was Wolverine skull fucking some red suited guy with his cat claws. :homer:

I went to an 85" about 2 years ago. No ragerts.

I think the old one was a 46" or 48".

I got a pretty high end 4k projector in a pile of auction stuff a few weeks ago. Pretty sure I'm gonna get the Vevor 120" motorized screen and hang it so it can drop down in front of the LCD :smokin:

Well just went into best buy to scope out thier sales. The 85" tcl for $749 picture looks slightly better then the $899 samsung.... but now I want the damn $1500 100" tcl..... so I bought nothing.

Off to go look at bbqs

oh jesus, you're out there amongst the sales with no adult supervision? Looking forward to riding whatever dirt bike you drag home on accident. :flipoff2:

Who's gonna be my best bet for ordering a full set of gears and bearings for the tacoma? I want to save about 15-20%
