Bible Prophecy - Nonbeliever's Playground

I never really understood why god created so many types of religion, and everyone says that theirs is the only right one.
God didn't create religion, man did. Everything God did was to create a relationship.

God created man (Adam) and walked & talked with Adam in the Garden of Eden. Satan destroyed that relationship through the deception of Eve, the temptation and fall of man.

God then came as Jesus to restore that relationship through His sacrificial death on the Cross.

"Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all mankind, because all sinned" - Romans 5:12 (NASB)

"So then, as through one offense [o]the result was condemnation to all mankind, so also through one act of righteousness the result was justification of life to all mankind. For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous. The Law came in so that the offense would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, so also grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 5:18-21 (NASB)

Cross-posted from the other thread:

As for me, God/Jesus/Holy Spirit is dark matter. Dark matter comprises most of the universe, and it seems to do nothing - hmmm, what could it be? Obviously, a fundamental component of the universe. The operating system are the laws of physics. The kernel is 'God' as a manifestation of the fundamental reality of the universe. Religion is man's API and that's why there are so many, while most all of them share core beliefs (don't fuck with your fellow man).

I guess one issue is that prophecies are always interpreted in the context of the times. I am old enough to remember interpretations of Nostradamus from the 60s and 70s. It was all about what was current then. Nowadays, it is all about what is current now. Citing your 'mark' example, 70-ish years ago it would be Hitler's Jew tattoos. Nowadays it is the COVID card. Twenty years from now it will be something else.
Also, who created God?
Fundamental component of the universe.

Waiting for the signs:lmao:

Seriously?

Didn't we burn this cross on the other place?

As someone who literally knows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about the bible, answer me this....

How did 2 people create seven billion without some serious incest?
Incest was not a sin until nearly 2000 years after Adam and Eve. So yes, Cain's wives and Seth's wives were their sisters.

Abraham and Sarah were 1/2 brother/sister to each other.

Rachel and Leah were cousins to Jacob.

It wasn't until the Exodus hundreds of years later where the Levitical Law was given that incest became a sin. I talk about this in my Creation Science seminar, essentially the world radically changed after the Flood and the degradation of genetic material (mutations) is a direct result of the post-flood world.

Also, who created God?
Nothing created God. He exists outside of the Universe, outside of Time even. The Universe (and Time) are part of His Creation.

The Hebrew name for God (YHWH) translated into English is "I AM" but that doesn't really do it justice. In Hebrew it is more accurately "The Existing One" (no beginning, no end, existing without end or beginning).

Addressing this part here. This view simplified "God is the Universe" is considered "Pan-Theism" (i.e. God exists in all things). This is the view of the Toltec Indians as well as other religions (current and ancient). This, however, is not how God defines Himself in the Bible. All things, rather, were created BY Him. In fact the Latin roots that we get the word Universe ("one verse") from literally mean "A Single Spoken Sentence" because "In the Beginning God Said 'Let there be...'" -- He spoke the Universe into existence.

If we are descendants of adam and eve then how do african americans exist. every bible has a depiction of two white people..I mean there is a fuck ton of us white people around but how do other skin pigments exist if we all descended from two white people in the middle east:stirthepot:

Sssoooo uuuuhhhhh,

Dinosaurs.

I'm more of a numbers guy.

And this is just like common core math.

It doesn't really add up....Unless you want it to.

Are you sayin that carbon dating or whatever they use is all wrong?

Further more.

You don't think that in 2000 plus years that the Bible proclaims a bunch of peeps sittin around a fire passin the pipe didn't come up with the greatest story in history.

I mean all they really had to do was get some people to believe them.

Really not much different than government if you think about it.

Religion is something that people want to believe in so that they don't feel like the time they were here was it.

Truth is....Nobody wants to die. So they come up with an excuse or a thought that there is something after they are gone.

Something better for the people that are good.

And something bad for the people that are bad.

If religion truly wants to reach every body then they would find a way to embrace science and not be so hypocritical..

Why ignore the obvious?

Who was Abel's wife? His sister. No way around it.

That's basically how I view things.

How do you control superstitious people 3000 years ago? Tell them a story about being a good person and doing what you want them to do and that it'll end up with them going to a good place. All they need to do is be a good person and oh yea, give the church 10% of their income.

Making mention that anyone that says anything against the Bible and it's teachings is sent from Satan himself to confuse believers is a nice touch to free people from free thinking because that's be dangerous to the churches bottom line. :homer:

Ready to have your mind blown?

We are all bad. Full of sin, to the brim... Nothing we do will give us acceptance for God. Nothing, with the exception of ONE solitary thing. There is no amount of good that God will recognize us for. All of our good deeds are like dirty rags to Him.

You're not blowing my mind since I grew up in a Bible teaching church but I understand you mentioning it so those that don't know will think about it.

I don't want to come across as some anti christian atheist or whatever but rather I see it simply as a control mechanism from ancient times. I don't look down upon anyone for their believing in the bibles teachings since for the most part there is nothing I find objectionable in it.

Mary, the supposed virgin gave birth to Jesus through immaculate conception?

So did everyone just take her word on her being a virgin? I mean there was not a whole lot of science or medical knowledge back then, so how could anyone be so sure?

I respect what the bible teaches and think that it generally encourages people to 'do good' so I have nothing against it or the people who follow it. But for me, some of the stories are pretty far out there and that makes it tough for me to just have blind faith

I know, what if someone roofied her or slipped her something then slipped her the D. It was date rape, not immaculate conception.

Honestly she was probably ashamed or scared of the preggers and made up a little story, people believed her and it took off and grew from there into the edition we all hear about now.

Adams son. Cain was Abel's brother. Cain killed Abel.
Raising Cain!!1! :mad3: :mad3: :mad3:

During these serious and trying times, people of all faiths should
remember these four great religious truths:

1. Muslims do not recognize Jews as God's chosen people.

2. Jews do not recognize Christ as the Messiah.

3. Protestants do not recognize the Pope as the leader of the
Christian world.

4. Baptists do not recognize each other at Hooters.

If you take a Christian camping, he'll drink all your booze, so bring 2 of them, they'll stare each other down

I was baptized as a Catholic, but godddam are they shady with all the money and hiding the pedophilia. I go Christmas and Easter with my GF and grandma, and they creep me the fuck out with the cult like shit, the repetition. My GFs daughter is Catholic from day 1, smart AF, open minded, deep thinker, a force to be reckoned with, also an altar server, the other day she just contemplated out loud how Catholicism seemed like a cult:laughing:
