@jeff555. Yours is pretty tall, but what size tires are on yours?37s on a van are hard unless you go really tall. The door gets in the way. A buddy has 37s on his but he has an 05+ D60 in the front. The extra width helps with tire clearance.
Nice.
Edit, it still rubs.
Nice.
Here is mine in Baja 3 days after buying it.
Winnerare you copying ridgeways setup?
Mine is on 37s, but is not that relevant to this conversation. It is solid axle (99-04 SD60), 6” lift, axle is pushed forward a bit, has only a couple inches of uptravel, and the tires only barely rub. I plan to trim the back corner of the fenders, but it hasn’t been a priority for over 5 years.@jeff555. Yours is pretty tall, but what size tires are on yours?
Mine was 6" tall and I would agree with you, it had minimal up travel and is the reason for this swap. When completed it should end up shorter a couple inches and still clear the 35s with minimal rubbing at the extremes of wheel travel.Mine is on 37s, but is not that relevant to this conversation. I wouldn’t call mine tall, I think 6” of lift is about the minimum with a solid axle. The 4” lifted solid axle vans have very little uptravel.
Back to this conversation, the bend in the radius arm doesn’t change the suspension geometry.
Could you pay a shop to bend you a couple tubes and ship them to you?
