Any time there is an accident with an injury, the vehicle gets impounded. Somebody dies, your fucked. They will likely not see that truck agian. Driver will be doing jail time.

I know it sounds shitty, but having dealt with this before, the driver should have bailed out immediately and headed for the border. Let the lawyers deal with it.

Ya, Mexico is a bad place to go through the legal system. They get an American in their grip, all they want is a big payout.

A racer/friend of ours was hit, broken pelvis, internal injuries. He was thru surgery yesterday and the surgeon felt everything went very well.

Julie Boyer posted about it on FB. Sad day.

Was he flown to a San Diego hospital?

Going to be a rough day for him, even if he gets out of Mexican jail, killing people and losing the team racetruck I couldn't even imagine the people gunning for him at that point.

He is way beyond the payout out stage, he's in for the legal ride. Mordida is for getting out of DUI's or pissing in public. Ain't no cop gonna take a bribe for homicide wrap from a gringo.

Unsure. I know some of the team was visiting him post-op.

Edit: surgery was in Ensenada. Update from a few minutes ago, he is improving quickly and they are working on flight arrangements to get him back in the states. Excellent news.
