Does this unicorn exist? I am a skier that is tired of leaving my snowboard at home. It would be nice to have a snowboard day when I head out west. I normally just don't snowboard when I have to get on a plane to go somewhere. I just got back from Jackson Hole which was amazing, but I decided to rent a snowboard for a day while I was out there and that thing was an ENORMOUS piece of shit. It would just be nice to have my own stuff there with me. My boot bag is already big enough to fit both sets of boots. I am just struggling to find a ski/snowboard bag that is built to accommodate a snowboard and a pair of skis at the same time. If anyone's google-fu is better than mine or you know of this beast already, please let me know.

I think I have an older Dakine that does both, lemme dig it out of the barn and I will report back.

That would be awesome, thanks! I think I might have found something that will work after way to long googling:

I think that looks like it will work. Might call them tomorrow and see what is up. That is a lot to spend on a bag that might not fit my needs, but if it works, it will be well worth it.

I can't tell you what a huge piece of shit this board I rented was...

I generally just bring my boots & rent demo skis out west. It’s worth it to me to Get nicer skis tailored to the exact conditions you’ll be skiing, we rarely get much use out of powder skis in the east. The Board bag is easier to manage and transport than longer skis anyhow.

Another factor for me is with my size 14 boots, it’s more difficult to find a wide body rental board that my toes won’t drag on toe side edge, but any rental ski will fit my boots.

I know exactly what you mean. I have east coast skis as well but I am used to them and frankly I have been heading west every winter since before powder skis even were a thing and I have been fine, but I think I will invest in some wider skis before to long. Nothing crazy but maybe some 105s. I have what I consider a very normal sized foot (size 12) and this board was narrow AF. My heals were hanging WAY off the back. Waist width generally goes up as the board gets longer and this board was too short as well so that didn't help. My board is a 164 and the rental was a 159 which I was told was the longest they had which seems stupid.

You’re missing out skiing out west on old tech East coast skis. The newer ski tech is a game changer in the deep stuff & shorter fatter skis are nicer in the trees & backcountry to pick lines. They make it so mush more enjoyable; less tiring at the end of the day.

There were a pile of Dakine board bags coming off baggage claim the last time I was in Denver that would fit at least a couple snowboards, probably two boards and a pair of skis, and long enough for 180-185's too. I helped offload one guy's bag (he had no legs and his wife was elsewhere) while waiting for my work stuff; his was heavy enough that he either had a whole disassembled sit-ski chair in there, or multiple boards/skis/gear. But he'd pointed out two others before "that one" and find out, nope, wrong one, nearly half the ski bags on the carousel were that big Dakine.

I'm thinking you should have some options with nearly any long board bag, worst case, take the bindings off the snowboard, put them on your boots, and put those giant frankenboots in your boot bag.

I think this is the bag: https://smile.amazon.com/DAKINE-Bou...3588025&sr=8-18&th=1&psc=1&tag=91812054244-20
