AR Lowers - School me

gotta link?
It is this lower, but I have it on a PSA dissipator-type platform so not built for lightweight (pencil barrel, skeletonized handguard, etc etc). I cannot attest to the rail.

"The Fostech Mach-2 LITE rail system is the lightest AR-15 rail system on the market today."

Cause reading the first sentence was too hard.
Try reading D jeepers post again. Says jack fucking shit about that.

Have you held one?

Which hole in the adjustable stock do you adjust yours to?

So I can’t adjust the stock...if I grab an adjustable stocked one, I adjust it to the same basic length. If the grip is your issue, it’s basically the same angle and feel as a magpul grip.

I say again, it is not a polymer80. I have several aluminum, normal lowers. The ke arms ones feel superior in every way.

Why don’t you guys get one, just throw the most basic of parts kits at it, put on your favorite upper, and go play with it? Tell me how shitty it is after that. If you don’t like it, sell it. Or don’t, I don’t care.
When I toss one (or more) ARs into my truck or tractor or small range bag, I collapse the stock to save space and to aid in mobility. Additionally, it helps greatly in saving space in my safe (e.g. I can separate the upper/lower, collapse the lower and shove it on a shelf on the bottom. I can't close the safe door unless it's collapsed. I have several stored thusly). You might be reading this angry but I'm not a hater and I never said it was inferior, it simply just doesn't do what I am accustomed to. YMMV...

The aero m4e1 you can get on sale/blemished for about 80 are pretty fancy. And if you can convince yourself to spend twice what you need to you can apply that to every part of your build.

Aero also bought Ballistic Advantage and their barrels are excellent

No. I'm not their customer

A poly lower is a poly lower, they fail at the buffer tube and or the lugs when they do. Even when they have inserts. I doubt these guys came up with some miracle material nobody's used yet. Maybe they did, good for them.
They use a proprietary glass reinforced nylon, similar to what you find in a dewalt, or milwaukee power tool.
It is the latest in the cav arms developmental line. It's roots go back to some Colt prototypes. Inrange and forgotten weapons have a lot of videos that cover both the development and testing of the lower.

I own one in a WWSD carbine. It is a functional and good rifle, I like it, but it isn't my favorite AR by any means.
I have thought about getting another KE lower, but not sure what I would build it out as.
If you want to play dress up with different stocks and grips it isn't the lower for you. If you have to have a metal lower then it obviously isn't the lower for you. The web behind the grip that leads into the stock is much thicker and has more material than any of the other polymer lowers out there.

I'm happy with mine, but I don't feel it's the be all and end all for AR lowers and as I said in my earlier post, I wouldn't recommend one for your first AR.:flipoff2:

At least I finally know one person that bought those overpriced rifles.

What are you using?
Not one of those things  My last build I used a MK12 Douglas 18 inch SPR barrel with Aero M4 receivers and a Geissele rail. That over priced pile uses a poly lower and Ballistic Advantage barrel. I’m not knocking BA as I have 3 or 4 ARs with their barrels. Not a chance in hell would I pay $2K for one of those rifles. I’ll wait to hear how it’s totally worth the price though.

I didn't buy it, I built one. Barrel is an odin works. The carbon fiber handguard is a lancer I picked up on clearance.
I think the upper is an aero, but don't remember.
The original concept behind the WWSD carbine was for you to make it yourself. It wasn't until Ke started making the lowers and partnered with brownells that they were for sale. The original format had a faxon barrel.
The young manufacturing BCG is a very nice unit I would run in any AR they are pricy though. The KE arms trigger is nice and I run them in several rifles. Pretty sure I got them on sale, but it's been quite a while.

You just assumed I bought one. I do feel they are expensive for what you get compared to other rifles in that price range. If you add up all the components separately they aren't making much on them, especially when you factor in the extra tax for completed firearms.
It's an interesting rifle concept and very functional, but as I said earlier I have other rifles I like better.

What do you guys us have against the ke arms one?
well, they're plastic with the usual 'big honkin' trigger guard and massive weld flash grinder marks
noncaptive pins are something I don't like
the selector detent is a li'l fucky too

and you look like someone who supports statists if you buy one, which kinda embarrasses me a little bit more now than back then

hell i bought a few rifles from bear creek arsenal for under 400 dollars delivered, i cant build anything that cheap.
If I ever have large amounts of play money not allocated to other things, I’d love to build an upper off one of their side chargers to slap on a fightlite scr lower. Like a better mini14
