I had a similar problem on my 2006 Jeep LJ with the 4.0L I6. The fuel pump was dying and putting out low pressure. My 2000 grand Cherokee (4.7l) is kicking my ass with a running issue, mainly under moderate to heavy load.
No codes, - crank and cam sensors recently replaced with OEM Mopar sensors.
I am suspecting fuel delivery but all my life a fuel pump has either worked or not worked, making it easy to diagnose.
This kind of feels like a weak fuel pump issue and I don't know if that is possible. Fuel pumps either pump or they don't, right?
Yeah it has that on my tester. Will try that out, 👍Fuel pressure testers usually have that valve below the gauge.
Use it to test the pump…. To test pump’s flow rate.
Run the tube into a bucket, bonfire, or something.
Engine running, push in the button to ‘bypass’ the gas and see whether engine continue to idle with this large ‘leak’, which it should, and the pressure shouldn’t take a dive.
