What's new

Anyone built their own motocross/gp style/endurocross type deal?

1\3 acre pit bike track outback count?

I miss those days. Rode and raced pitbikes with my friends back home in my slightly younger years. It was soooo much fun until it started getting out of hand with engine mods, suspensions, frames ect. We all ended up with little "big" bikes in both cost and performance and the fun kinda faded.

Yep. Kids these days don’t know about Sano, BBR, Takegawa. Buddy of mine just bought a time capsule xr50, stock motor BBR exhaust, skid, and BMX bars, $450 with the title, couldn’t believe it. We joked about how that was how they were the most fun but never stayed like that.

OP, yes I have given it quite a bit of thought myself. Guy down the way has a pile of telephone poles next to his barn that are cut into maybe 12’-16’ sections, I always think, I should see if he wants to get rid of those, couple used tires from the tire shop in town, would make for the start of a little setup.

Kindof confused here. Why would you build anything when you can just go down to the KTM dealer?

Believe he’s talking about a course/track. :flipoff2:

Though your KTM dealer might be better than mine and have one you can go ride whenever you want.

This was my last "pitbike" before i went back to big bikes. Pitster Pro linkage frame and swingarm, KLX motor bored and stroked to 212cc's, Takegawa roller cam head, Moto HP, Sik Tendency Racing, and BBR engine internals. CR 80 USD forks cut down to 9" travel, and set up by Feal suspension in California, FOX rear shock, and a stupid amount of bling and custom anodizing and powder coating. It was stupid fast for how small it was!! I used to keep it in my living room when I wasn't racing. I loved that bike....

First time I raced after I finished the build. One of my favorite pictures of all time.....

Sure anything motocross related. Full or pit bike. I had a "trick" xr50 with way too much money tied up in it. Bombshell forks, 106 I think it was big bore, takegawa super hhead, brb frame, etc. Even had black and Dalmatian print fur on it. Was still too small for me at 6'4.

well I started doing a little work. Only have about 6 acs now. It has some rolling ground on it. So thinking some tree trunks and a few jumps and a fast roller and whoop section with a couple decent jumps thrown in. I will be posting pics.
