Dumb idea. Why add that complicated bullshit into the system. The result is the same, just the added headache of writing the check.

I disagree

If all US tax payers received an itemized bill that factually showed what their $$$ is going to and had to write a check to the IRS each year for that, things would change.

And a lot of people would be in jail for their inability to pay that tax

Wouldn’t it be cool if you got an itemized list the gooberment wants to spend your tax $$$ on and had the cost next to that item, but you could check off on the only items you agreed with?
 
I think if everyone had to write a check, there would be enough pissed off people to get off the porch and fix this shit. I don't think most people realize just how much they send the federal government in a year, a week at a time. Most are just hoping for a refund of their own damn money.

You missed the point. Writing a check and getting an itemized statement are two different things. Just because you write the check doesn't mean you get a statement.

Oh fuck no. Why punish the working.

Id rather pay the same tax and do away with no working getting no money.

Getting a reciept does nothing. You still dont have any way to stoo the squander, now theyre just rubbing your face in it.
 
I understand what you are saying, if you saw at each paycheck how much taxes were, it might impact psychologically. It might have to be more noticeable, like they give you cash..and then you give half of it back.

Similar concept they say that people who shop with cash spend less than debit/credit card, cuz it’s hard to part with those hard earned bills.

In practice not sure it works, lots of people still write checks to .gov at the end of the year and still vote for stupid.:mad3:

To fix the country that’s one step.

But here is what it should be.

1. Every federal politician is required to live and work in their district.

No offices or staff in DC. All work is done by a secure “Teams” / “Zoom” style program that can be opened up to their constituents for transparency in government

Your seat goes up for special elections if you are out of your district more than 104 days.

2. You aren’t eligible for re-election if the budget is not balanced.

3. No payroll deduction. You write a check for your taxes

4. Taxes are due on Election Day

I would also like the elected representatives to wear body cams. If it good enough for popo. It’s good enough for a congressman.

Sorry, Just never have much to say. I read here most every day. Same name on old site. Never had much to say there either. Originally came for the tech, stayed for the chit chat of like minded people. for the most part....

This is something that has been on my mind for a couple years.
I know how I feel having to send them a check. Reason I posted today is, I'm fixing to have to write another check and I aint happy about it at all. I think if everyone with a job had to actually send them money instead of them taking it before you see it, things would change fast. Like someone said above, most wouldn't have the money to pay it. More people would start paying attention to what they are spending our money on. How much have they spent just on investigations that was just for show or slander to start with? Obama sent pallet loads of OUR money to people we are fixing to fight. I'm tired of watching the pajama people live better than me. Just a few examples of what we sit back and watch them do.

You forgot two very important things

5. Lobbying will be illegal

6. No member of congress may hold stocks including family members.

7. No money/aid will be sent to other countries.

Those two 5 and 6 are the reasons why every member of congress is worth millions and doesn't care about who they represent

I say do away with all income taxes and deductions and just have a consumption tax. Then everyone pays the same including illegals and people visiting. No taxes on food or housing.
 
I have said repeatedly (with very little support) that the only peaceful means of actual reform is mass non-compliance of Federal income tax payments. People talk about the US dying off or there being a civil war, this is the most reasonable option.

The .gov is done even pretending to give a fuck about its citizens, they just announced $157 Million in funding for Lebanon, but FEMA is “almost out of money” for hurricane relief due to giving it all to illegals.

Power is derived from the consent of the governed, and it’s time they learned that lesson. Shut it all off.

Exactly, It will take mass non-compliance or we going to jail and labeled as terrorist like the jan 6th people.
