Aisin vs 68RFE

Forums, trans shops, etc. Just general online "research"

I know there's almost no support for the 68/69rc. Several common issues chew the case up and they are hard to find. Good luck in another 10 years.

Mine shifts poorly, to the point I've let off and cringed as it was slipping between 2 gears BAD. 2-3 shift is horrible for that. And it sometimes holds 6th until lugging to almost stalling then drops to 4th and almost redlines.
Truck has ~95k miles and just has a very mild "tow" tune.

Have a 2017 at work with the 68RFE and it shifts much much better.

My '12 68 sucks balls!

Mainly just venting.
I can understand that. The inconvenient brings the suck.
It does have warranty but my faith in the shop is already tainted. Just wanted some input on what people have added
How is the shop’s reputation is like?

Shit happens even to the best shop and that’s what the warranty is for.

This guy has been building them for 25 plus years or so he says.. We will see how it goes when I stop by this afternoon.
