87 22re throttle cable bracket

Buddy of mine put a new motor in an 87 pick up. It's a 4x4 5spd if that matters.

The throttle cable bracket was a bit of a mystery, but I thought we got it. Now he's saying that it's not right as it only goes half throttle. Anyone have a Pic of their throttle bracket or any idea why it would only give 1/2 throttle?

He's got something wonky going on. I noticed the cab is different from the bed and front end. Who knows what year the engine is. The throttle cable when hooked up like it's supposed to be, pulls on the throttle quite a bit. Notice the idle screw back waaaay out?

So it seems the throttle cable is too short, but what year do you buy?

It's all the way out and is like an inch off. He actually stuck it like this and it seemed the right length

I'm thinking it has a Mish mash of years from the 3 different style posted. I told him go buy an 85, 88 and 93 throttle cable and see which one works.

It's actually a mechanic buddy of mine. He does diesels all day and isn't very familiar with Toyotas. This truck is a rusted pos and obviously a mixed bag of years so he asked my help.

You can also see in the Pic that the nut is bottomed out, so who's day drinking

I will say the epay\china throttle cables suck, the same listing for this 85 was like 2" short and bound up.

edit before " thats not an 85"
Going by the sellers info, bar said 87.
Could ya flip the anchor bracket around?
or pull from the top?

So it seems pretty consistent that 2nd gen trucks had the linkage looking deal, and 3rd gens had the direct style like what he has.

No idea what combo of intakes, cables, ect he's got going

Settin on the first gen 22r block.
85 intake and plenum.
Cable from the ?85? Has a different firewall mount that the carb'd cab.
The beat it to fit and paint it to match phrase applies to these things
