So my new blinker switch arrived today from a bronco specific supplier Old one was worn the f out, have replaced the little plastic detent piece twice but now it's just worthless worn out.
I ordered the piece with all the wires, the whole assembly. Spent the afternoon pulling out the old one from the column and pulling the new one, fortunately I attached a pull string to pull the new wires through the steering column. got it all installed, followed the wiring color codes from the Bronco specific suppliers web site pin the wires into the connector. Turned the key on, flipped the blinker switch and... nothing, no blinkey. The brake lights work and the hazards kinda work but no left or right blinky.

So tomorrow I gotta chase wires and troubleshoot this mess.

Sorry, just bitching. I guess I was expecting too much from a 46 year old Bronco.

IT's a piss poor design from Ford. If you even needed the extra push to get an aftermarket column, just spend a few more nights upside down under the dash.

What condition is the flasher in? Did you test for connection through the contacts?

Most everything works now. except the right brake light. No power at the bulb but I'm calling it a win since all the blinkers work. Turns out somewhere along the way I blew a fuse. Ever tried to find a 14A glass fuse at the local Vatozone auto parts store. not the regular long one but one thats a bit shorter. Went to 3 stores and finally found one at NAPA.
Anyway, now I 'm chasing the wiring to the right rear brake light.

Well, that's strange. Both wires to my license plate light have power. Something's fishy.

Do you have the schematic? Should be easy enough to find online.

I see your in Chandler too, I can give you a hand if you want.

I appreciate the offer however after reading your build thread I think your garage/shop is the polar opposite of my 2 car garage packed with a 72 Cougar project car, tool boxes, welders, torches, and all the associated parts for projects and camping gear, not to mention my son's 84 Bronco 2 project that I somehow got handed and his 93 Honda that failed emissions for the third time that I have to weld in a new cat this weekend. My Bronco is low on the list of priorities.
That said, you're welcome to come over but it may be just to drink beer and stare at my projects and bench race.
