39 ish Chevy

Spent 10 days away working on a much more expensive rod, and came home and slammed the trans in. Or more appropriately, let my mini me do the work as I nudged her in the right direction.
I'm excited though. Been a long time since I've had a car with 3 Pedals, and this was a massive step in the right direction to get the interior metal done.

Going back to the 4 link comments, having the uppers centered on the tube is no worse than all the trucks running around with the lowers of the front ofvthe tube. Actually, less stupid as the bags are off the axle and not fucking with the squat numbers like almost every rock donkey.

Yeah I'm not too stressed about it. I've built enough to know this will work well enough for what it is. How hard can I really drive it with 4 wheel drum brakes anyways :laughing:
 
Me and my daughter are hammering the tin work out. In reality I could have slip rolled a piece of tin and called it good, but I want every piece we touch to be worked, and to tie into the rest, one fluent design.

Well, not specifically about the build, but I'm gonna use it for it.....

With the youtube channel i had a bunch of people ask if I had an Amazon wishlist. So I set one up. Last weekend I mentioned that I could use a shrinker stretcher and a viewer said that if I put one in my wishlist, he'd buy it
I put a couple of the standard, everyone has them units in there, plus the giant cast framed deep Throat unit that I actually wanted, and 2 days later had a message that it was on its way. I honestly didn't believe the guy, it us surreal.
Until it showed up today, and if that ain't cool, i don't know what is :smokin:
Me and the wife are working on the doghouse again. Hoping that this weekend it's finished and I'm onto the metal behind the seats.

Also grabbed a couple more donors to build once the car is done. Local wrecker was clearing space, grabbed both cabs, rolling frame, fenders and a hood for $300. And the chevy cab has Vin tags. Youtube is throwing some money my direction, I figure I'll see where it takes me, and keep building bigger.

Skin the worse of the 2 cabs for the crawler build :smokin:
 
It's definitely crossing my mind. I'm stockpiling old metal right now for the future, I've got to go grab some doors and a dash from another cab to try to make that chevy complete, and then i can figure out what im going to do with it.
 
Man, I'd kill for one of those cabs. Mine's shit.

These cabs are horrible. I can bring them back, but really I bought them because the tags on the one can are worth what we paid for everything.
What I really want is this White cab, it's cheap, and looks solid, but it's $150 ferry each way, plus about 16 hours driving, financially, I can't warrant it unless I'm already going

After I got the new shrinker stretcher, it was on, hammered out the last of the doghouse. I've got hours of hammer and dolly work to finish it. But it should make a nice center piece.

It's a shame you aren't closer. I've got a bunch of cabs bookmarked. Last fall we drove and picked up 3 complete internationals for $1500.
I don't come across them often, but I keep tabs on them when I do.
