What's new

3 hours in NYC Manhattan

Dude! You gotta go see the Intrepid! If you really like Sushi go to Morimoto's or other high end places, just ask.

If you're really inro sushi try to get a spot at Sushi Nakazawa and at the bar. It's worth the money for the experience.

Had an Italian Cheesesteak at Alidoro in Penn Station on the Sunday before Memorial Day while on an Amtrak layover. Damn... Best sammich I've had in a >LONG< time. Fuck a bunch of yankees, but they sure know how to make some damn good sammiches. :smokin:

Wife is gluten intolerant so her choices were limited, she got a salad at Chopt Creative Salad Co. and said it was damn good, and they knew what extra dressing meant.

That is fucking living the dream!:beer::beer::beer:

I was going to rank on the Utah dude giving NYC advice, but this is spot on.

Corner of Ludlow and Houston. Pronounced How-stun not Hugh-ston..

Take a yellow cab. 3 hours is just about right.

Order a Dr Brown Cel-Ray soda for the drink.

A great spot to drink in Penn Station is Kabooz. IIRC its by the dunkin donuts.

That's still there, and ain't a bad stop, but the Irish Exit over in the new Moynihan Train/Food Hall is now my go-to when waiting after a show.

Kabooz also opened up a little hole in the wall bar down the hall, same owners I think but just a bar and not a restaurant.

Lucy's Cantina Royale on the same block on the 34th has awesome margaritas and a nice rooftop bar. I recommend the Green Bell margarita as it's a little different than you'd expect but very good and I haven't really seen it elsewhere.

I ride the subways a few times a month on the way to shows and aside from the occasional piss smell it really isn't as bad as the news makes it out to be. Just stand with your back to a post or on one of the benches.

Worlds Largest Applebees is just north of Times Square and a common stop for me before I go to the Iridium for shows.

Off the Greenway, Little Island Park is fuckin cool in Chelsea and the City Winery there is one of my favorite venues.

Too little too late, I know...and as much as I'm not a city guy, I don't mind the adventure a time or two per month.

Is that the spot across from the post office? I stopped at that place once on a friday back when i drank. It was all Uppity :mr-t:s there. But that was also years ago. IIRC that night brother jimmy's had 2 hour wait.

Yeah, well now Moynihan, but there's another spot kinda next to it called 'Local NYC' which is anything but. Lucy's ain't cheap (what is around there) but Local was much more of an upscale vibe.
