Also many many thanks to Chris (06h3) for making another set of brake adapter from his so that I can run the factory h3 brakes on the dana 60 hubs.

Windrock was a success. Met up with the hummer club and some other buddies who have SAS h3ts and hit the trials. This was largely intended as a shakedown run after the build to see if anything was glaring wrong or if I F-ed up somewhere along the way. Well she passed with flying colors. Couple of sounds and tweaks I need to address but nothing major....yet.

We did just shy of 60 miles over 2 days through the park. Don't ask the trail numbers because I don't know lol

Before the rubicon I need to add the antiwrap bar and double check that everything is tight.
Steering does feel a little off, so I'm not sure if that's a pump or something else .

Welp, made it through the rubicon. 3 solid days of driving from Indianapolis to get there and hit the trail. She made it through unscathed, minus the usual scrapes and bruises...I must have done something right during the build process. Massive thanks to 06h3 for guiding us through.
We had him, my SAS h3 and an ifs h3 with a lift all go through.

I several underestimated how relelentless the trail is. And I know for you vets it's probably not, bit it kicked my a$$...but I'm ready to do it all over again.

We ran into WFO concepts doing a double recovery on a buggy and a jk.
06h3 had his food snatched by a bear.
I gave soup bowl a shot and failed.
also tried little sluice and failed.

Biggest takeaways as far as truck performance goes is....I need 40s and to shave the 14b. Both would have made my life 1000 times easier, I will have that done for the next time.

Here are some pics, in no particular order.

Looks like an awesome trip! I think I saw you guys loaded up in Meyers on Sunday?

It was great to have you guys out on the rubicon!

I have run this trail probably 10-12 times now and have always taken food and bears with caution. I was lazy one time and the bear called me out on it. bastard....good memories atleast

So not only did the bear break into your H3, it then stole your food, and littered everywhere...freaking bears!

I had half doors on so it was an easy break in. I have brought bear proof containers on most rubicon trips. If i do not bring the bear proof container I have an action packer that is stuffed under the metal cargo setup I have making it damn near impossible for a bear to get. This time I threw it in a duffle bag you would put your clothes in and left it in a spot a bear would have to work at getting but could get at and it did. I won dumbass of the day award. :shaking:

Yep! We were at that holiday market!

I towed it out, I'm glad I did. It probably would have been able to drive that far but that's just asking for alot.
Don't blame ya there one bit on towing it out!

Quite the award to win! :lmao:

Looks like a killer trip, the Rubicon is definitely on my bucket list to hit. Also looks like the new mods are working well, can't wait to see it on 40s!

Yep, no real complaints with the build, I have some more bumper trimming to do, I thought I got enough trimmed after the shakedown, but I guess not lol

I underestimated how much my diffs were going to smack while still on 37s, so the 14b shave, plus 40s should give me slightly more clearance and get rid of that constant annoyance of the diffs smacking on stuff they shouldn't.

Remarkably after having parked it for a few days straight without touching it, nothing was leaking, so that's a positive.

I'm on 40s with a TMR full shave and still whack my diff all the time. When you got more clearance you try harder shit. The pinion guard is a must have!

Incase anyone is curious, my "tow rig" aka daily driver is a 2015 gmc sierra with the 6.2 and max tow package. It's rated for 11k lbs towing. 17k max gcwr.
I stopped on the way home at a cat scale and here's the total weight.

And finally mileage. Indianapolis to tahoe and back, plus other bits in-between.

10.3, not too bad for a gas motor. I did get the brakes smokey coming down the 50 into reno, idk who thought it would be a good idea to put a stop light at the bottom of the hill, so dumb imo.
Trans hit 210 going up the grade from salt lake to park city. Otherwise she did fine, just slow on the up and downs.

Oh i completely forgot, AC decided to shred itself in reno on the way home. So no AC, 90+ degrees, 2k miles, was not fun.
