20 mph on a skid steer?

I kind of hate to mention this on this site, but here goes. I won’t have any seat belts for the first test. In fact, I won’t have any seats. I will be standing next to it or sitting on the fender or roof. I made a wired remote control for it.
Fuck yeah!

Send it. Worst that's gonna happen is you wind up in the women living longer thread.

This is me on my 'mog when I was younger. If I woulda fell off that thing would have low-gear crawled right over me.

My t300 goes about the speed of smell....maybe. 25mph would be scary as fuck.
About 7 mph. I've driven my S250 a few miles on the road vs trailering it more than a few times 🤣

Because of the steering or the lack of suspension?

Sounds like suspension. How do you feel about steering?
Now that you mention, I kind of realize that steering the argo is easier and smoother at fast speeds. It is very jerky to turn at slow speed because you need the brake fully on or off. At speed the brakes do work to ease it over with a light application.

That sounds like a French tank.

I think the suspension is good on the Vulcan, but I won’t really know till I drive it. Assuming it is, I would think it should drive similar to an Argo on smooth road. Question, does the Argo steer by differential braking or is there some kind of power splitting transmission?

The pumps are controlled by the two toggle switches. The green button must be held in or it shuts down. That way if I fall off or something, at least the thing doesn’t keep going. Controlling the pumps will only allow a top speed of maybe 8 mph, so I don’t think there will be any “U-Tube” moments. The real speed will come with controlling the wheel motors.
How long is the cord on your remote control?

WaterHead, get in the machine. If you stand right next to it using toggle switches and guessing at speeds then at least film it and leave instructions with somebody to post for us.

Skid steers go fast enough. When plowing snow I ran them flat out but when you caught a sewer or water main cap you would kiss the windshield. Not fun.
