I was on crf250L, buddies on XR650L and a husky 701.

Day 1 was 65/35 road/dirt.
Day 2 was 10/90 road/dirt
Day 3 was 5/95 road/dirt

Dirt was mostly 2 track and some dirt road

Camping gear was a tarp base

Cheap amazon 1 man pop tent.
30-70 degree mummy bag
Jetboil for coffee and freeze dried "peak refuel" meals. Also had almonds and jerky in backpack.

All of that packed in a 40L dry bag strapped to back of bike.

4 liter camel back and 2 24 oz water bottles. Refilled at gas station on day 2.

Brought tools to change a tire, 1 front and 1 rear tube. Headlamp, hand air pump, clothing, and 2 750ml fuel containers. Which we never needed.

Thats a lotta road on a 250:grinpimp:

Obviously depends on the snow. But I have always found that cutting your own path is way easier than trying to ride on somebody elses ruts.

I just started riding last year when a buddy left this 250L in my shop " till he had space" I dont know what I dont know! 250 holds 65-75 on the highway depending on grade and winds. Yes, I ate shit a few times in the snow, and the rocks and the dirt.... 😆. Had a blast and am going to do a 8 day UT BDR next month.
